I didn’t say he sponsored the bill, I said that Cruz mentioned in a speech that he had consulted with Sessions on this, and it sounds like he did, from the article, as well. This is kind of like trying to make a mountain out of a molehill.

The Obama administration has said the deal is not going to change U.S. immigration law, so wed like to put it in writing that they cant, Sessions said. His amendment would prohibit the fast-track procedures from applying to any pacts containing immigration provisions.
Another amendment from Sen. Ted Cruz would insert language in the fast track bill that would prohibit trade agreements that alter any immigration law, regulation or policy.
Is that what you're using to come to your conclusion?
If so, I don't see it. It's two separate amendments and it doesn't say they consulted each other that I can see.
If not, what in the article persuades you? Please post the relevant paragraph/s.
