Wish there were people in Congress that had no fear and would stand up against this. How sad is the day in which we live.
Phyllis forgot to mention that the 2015 TPA Bill strengthens U.S. sovereignty and also contains the Cruz/ Sessions language on immigration. If TPA is adopted, TPP will have to conform.
She also fails to mention it is a long way from being completed or voted on. TPP will not pass.
Phyllis Schlafly is the “gold standard” when it comes to true conservatism.
It is good to see Phyllis still out there throwing the old pill around. She has always had a healthy suspicion of secrecy and cloistered negotiations. Her little book, AMBUSH AT VLADIVOSTOK presented good details about how the elites work everything to their advantage in the hurry-up secret deals. In that case Gerald Ford who had been sort of a conservative congressman continued to be pulled ever more liberal as a prez by the elites and his own advisors.
Cruz already said that would not be legal or binding.
WRONG.... it’s BOEHNER that won’t let you(us) read it.. NOT Obama..
“Its called a living agreement which means the globalists can amend and change the text of the so-called agreement after it has gone into effect.”
But congress, once the TPA is signed off on cannot amend it.
And now the cat is out of the bag, Senator Cruz? Your move.
Sure, Cruz responded. There is a lot of confusion and, unfortunately, a lot of misinformation you can get on the Internet that people are confused, so lets explain what each of those three are. Cruz, by saying that, was essentially making the exact same claimblaming the Internet for what he argues is misinformationas House Ways and Means Committee chairman Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI)...From there, Cruz aimed to separate TPA and TPPbut he didnt mention the other, even more secretive trade agreements like T-TIP or TiSA, which would also be fast-tracked under TPA. TPPs text is available for members of Congress to review in a secret room in the Capitol basement.
TPA isn’t usually this big a deal but the agreement this president wants is horrible (according to what we know) and would only get an up or down vote...and we see that it’s passable with what’s happening now. With TPA, we would not have parliamentary tools to slow a bad deal down after finding out about it. No amendments and no filibuster... Versus this president.
That’s why I oppose TPA right now...I think it increases executive power and simultaneously decreases Congress’ powers...with this president I oppose that!
I’d like someone else’s take though. If, as some claim, TPA would actually act to constrain this president can you tell me how?
Toast Cruz supports Obama on this. 100% AGAINST the
American people. Too bad, Toast.
It’s all right here in black and white: http://denbeste.nu/external/idealogical_war.pdf
“Hurray for the stalwart Americans who resisted the demands of Obama, the Republican leadership, and the big-donor claque, “
YOu realize you are congratulating Nancy Pelosi, don’t you?
I believe Phyllis.
The House is voting on the rule for TPA now, to be followed by debate and vote on the TPA as a stand alone bill:

How Congress Voted on Trade Trade Promotion Authority, or TPA, would fast-track the TPP and TTIP once they are finalized. This means that Congress will consider the deals without the opportunity for senators to filibuster or for members of either chamber to propose an amendment. It will be an up-or-down vote. Congress is deliberating whether to tie its hands together now in order to prevent the trade deals from unravelling once its members get a look later.
They are desperate because the whole financial issue is about to go bust. They want spherical unity to help blunt our historic crash IMO.
