San Bernardino, once a sturdy, middle class "All-America City," is now bankrupt, the poorest city of its size in California, and a symbol of the nation's worst urban woes.

Another sign that liberalism doesn’t work.
54% of the city on welfare. Huge percentage of the city's funds going towards six-figure pensions for civil servants. People living in filth and squalor, many of them hooked on methamphetamines and shooting themselves up with needles.
I'm guessing this city is run by Democrats. But that's just a guess. The article doesn't mention it.
San Bernadino, the HOLY CITY, for the Campus Crusade crowd, of Bill Bright. I was overwhelmed, in awe, how the 4 spiritual laws fruit after 30 years would leave a city in a heap of a mess. I think Bill Bright wanted to get everyone to Heaven, but we didn;t see much of Heaven coming to Earth ideas...
I thought Every City in California was Bankrupt, or nearly so and just haven’t admitted it yet.
I had to look up the party of the new Mayor (inaugurated in 2014), R. Carey Davis. Although officially “non-partisan”, he is claimed to be Republican. The Mayors for 2 decades have been Democrats before him. He was narrowly elected over another leftist on the pledge to try to clean up the disastrous economic mess there.
Some years ago, the company I worked for wanted to build an asphalt plant in Stockton. The city government offered city ground to help get it started but by the time the state air board, the county government and the residential lobby got done picking over the deal, we built the thing in Reno.
Damn shame what the left has done to this country. Their solution? More of the same. There was a time when these people would have been strung up. Perhaps that time will come again. I’m on board.
Even when I lived in the area 35 years ago, we knew not to be in San Bernardino at night. The same rules for Pomona. Nearby Realto was well-known as gang territory.

Good point! Today’s reductionist Gospel does not save. It is not the Gospel of Jesus and the disciples.
I know I can just choose to ignore them
but do we have to post so many dumb
California trick threads? Liberals do stupid
stuff in other states. I am for open
discussion but it gets tiring filtering
out the “cut Cali off and float it out
to sea” posts from trolls who have never
been to the place and/or don’t know there
are millions of conservative Californians who
are just trying do the right things every day.
Let’s talk about stupid liberal stuff that happens
elsewhere for a change. We all know it does.
People in CA don’t believe that any of this is a factor of their liberalism.
It’s spelled Rialto, and I lived there 30 years ago. The “downtown” stores consisted of used book stores, used mattress stores, a paint store, boarded up storefronts, and junk boutiques. A Rialto police officer suggested I move out of Rialto as the cops weren’t able to keep up with the criminal activity there.
Apparently Kaiser closed up an operation that was critical to the town economy and it went on the skids.
My father worked in San Berdoo back in 1969 after his discharge. He lasted three months and ran...back to Newark.
The Campus Crusade for Christ was known during my time in college as being a bit too aggressive, but their supposed aggressiveness pales in comparison to today's feminazis.
CCC is now located in Orlando, FL.
Maybe they abandoned San Bernardino, but, maybe it abandoned them.
I don't know why you would use an article on San Bernardino to trash Bill Bright or CCC.
Newark, New Jersey? Surely not in preference to San Berdoo.
How many people have you led to the Lord?
How many people have listened to you preach and then taken a stand for Christ?
Yep, although in his defense, he lived in the only nabe in Newark that never went full ghetto. He hate San Berdoo, as he could take neither smog, nor toothless women.
