Chaplain Wes Modder spends his days basically alone in the base chapel. He is no longer allowed into his office. By order of his commanding officer, he is not allowed even to speak to the sailors in his unit. If anyone from his unit comes into the chapel, he may not speak with them.
His commanding officer, Captain Jon Fahs, has taken this unusual step because of complaints lodged against Modder by a handful of sailors who claim he is “unable to function in a pluralistic and diverse Navy.” Modder ran into the buzzsaw of political correctness related to human sexuality.
Fahs requested various actions against Modder, including taking him off the promotions list, separating him for cause, and initiating a board of inquiry. None of that has happened yet and, in the meantime, Modder sits alone unable to help his fellow sailors.
Modder was not even allowed to minister to his unit personnel after a recent suicide in the unit.
Modder and his lawyers at the Liberty Institute have taken the highly unusual step of filing a complaint against his commanding officer. According to Modder’s lawyer Mike Berry, it is almost unprecedented for a subordinate officer to file such a complaint.

The Article 138 complaint would force his commanding officer to let Modder do his job and to do it in line with his endorsing denomination.
Modder’s Article 138 complaint will go to Admiral John Richardson, Director for Naval Reactors, who is also President Obama’s nomination for Chief of Naval Operations and a seat on the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Yes it is sad and this Defense Sec of Obama’s hosted a so called event for the military queers. An Army Brigadier General named Taylor introduced his husband. This is the disgusting degradation the libs and Obama have made our nation’s military. The main chapel at FT Bragg was used for regular Sunday services in the 60’s when I was there plus beautiful military weddings where the couple walks under crossed swords, and of course for funerals. The last I heard a queer officer had a ceremony in front of the chapel with his queer whatever. This is sick. I hope this Chaplain starts things on the right track.
It goes back a lot further than Obama. The changes for the worse started way back in the GHW Bush administration. The so called GOP takeover of Congress in 1994 and their aiding and abetting Clinton that followed didn't help matters either. GW Bush and his Sec's of Defense did their damage as well and corrected absolutely nothing not even with a two house majority. Both parties have become the enemy and people need to wake up to that fact.
Reagan was the last POTUS who understood what our military was for and appointed competent men to manage it properly. By the end of Poppy Bush's term the military was well on it's way into a downward spiral. A little over a year after he left office we had a carrier have a boiler room explosion at Pier 12 NORVA that was so severe it had to be towed Cold Iron to the yards in Portsmouth. That was after it had returned from a deployment that began in August 1993. It had made three previous deployments in three years. Before the August 1993 deployment the ship was in such bad shape it had no radar, only two of six generators operational, and was unable to pump fuel properly. Those kind of issues take a while to get that bad. Three missed or shortened yard period cycles caused it.
Not one defense cut under any POTUS can happen without Congressional approval. Congress is supposed to regulate the military meaning set the rules. Congress tomorrow morning could end the Gay Mafia takeover of the military. They have the Constitutional authority to do so. Instead they are too busy cutting secret deals pandering to K-Street Crooks. That kind of negligence of congressional and presidential duties has been going on since 1989. That is how we got to where we are today.
It might help if we had some people on our side who have the guts to stand up to them on TV like Cruz did that day in FL. Start throwing their crap right back at them and keep reminding the sheep they only represent 2% of the population, and we’re not altering our society for that few of people who are making a choice in their lifestyle.
Hell I don’t care what they do in the privacy of their bedroom but we’re not gonna have it shoved in our face anymore.

On a ship the typical Bedroom {berthing area} is about 24'X40' and sleeps nearly 200. There is no privacy. None. Racks are stacked three high and 12 to each cubical. You have to walk down a passage way for a shower, nature call, etc.
Some ship operations were once considered so serious you reported to your shop in skivvies or a towel if you were in the shower or rack and heard the Man Overboard Whistle. Knowing who was missing told the guys in the Whaleboat and on the Bridge what the person was likely wearing, where they fell from, and what gear they may have had on. It was a mandatory visual muster no exceptions you reported to the guy on watch in your work center I wonder how they get around that one now? Ships are for combat not for social experiments or political correctness. Anything other than that mindset lessens readiness and will get men killed.
Many a man retired with 20 or more years of service who never saw war from the mid 70’s- 90’s.I used to see some of the 5th SF types at Campbell around the exchange and commissary in the 1990’s, and; I saw no CIB’s or CMB’s.

I don’t disagree with you but there’s more to it than that. We sent a lot of who we thought were the best people to the Capitol this last Election, and they’ve done virtually none of what we sent them there to do. When they do something good the MSM starts attacking them and rather than show unity, they abandon each other, hide from the cameras, and accept the premise the MSM set forth. There are ways to fix that. Reagan did it, Newt did it, but for some reason they’ve forgotten how.
It’s late, and I’m looking out the wrong end of the binoculars, but we’ve got a chance this time. We just have to work harder for it than we used. Keep in mind the liberals never give up. We have to be that relentless for a while.

I am glad I retired before all this garbage. My son just graduated from College. I have actively discouraged him from going into the military. The rat bastards can stuff it.
The best military you can have ideally is simply a large enough of one standing ready and trained so well that the enemy understands it can not win against and will pay a huge price to engage and loose too. Reagan it seems was the last POTUS who understood this. As a result our military as well as our nation prospered.
I know we had ops going on during his tenure like Central America but nothing of the ongoing nature & involvement seen today. I don't think he would have allowed for troops left to be hung out to dry either. In other words Murtha Witch Hunts sorta stuff. Today's 20 yr Lifer has not known a true peacetime military.
