Lester Holt wants Brian Williams’ $10M salary

Lester Holt — who’s primed to permanently take over for fibbing Brian Williams on “NBC Nightly News” — wants the same $10 million-per-year salary Williams was getting.

Holt’s agents want to quietly renegotiate his contract with NBC as the network tries to reach a resolution over Williams, who will not return to “Nightly News” following an internal investigation.

But insiders tell us it’s Holt who’s got the upper hand as NBC News has no backup anchor plan.

“There’s a lot of drama at NBC News,” said a source familiar with the upcoming negotiations. Holt is currently being paid about $4 million per year as the “Nightly News” weekend anchor and for other assignments. But the network so far has offered Holt less than lyin’ Brian was making to take over the newscast, a source said.

“Lester’s team feels that if he gets half of what Williams was making, the message to him and the newsroom is he’s half the anchor Brian was.”

The source added Holt “won’t walk away” from the talks, but “He’s got NBC by the balls — because there is no Plan B for them. This is Lester’s chance to get paid.” Holt can renegotiate his deal since his role is changing.

To make Holt happy, we hear NBC News could offer him what Williams was making before he signed his huge $10 million-a-year, five-year contract in 2014.

“Lester hasn’t ‘been there’ yet,” said an insider of Holt’s payday, pointing out Williams anchored “NBC Nightly News” for a decade before he inked the massive deal last year.

Page Six reported on Monday that Williams will likely lose his anchor chair, but could be brought back to NBC News in a different, lesser role. The negotiations are complex and still ongoing.

Reps for NBC and Holt didn’t comment.

I really don’t care for the way Lester reads aloud. Everything he has done for IDTV makes it sound like melodrama...and these were real events. I cannot imagine his ad lib ability or his capacity for real critical thought. Not worth $100,000 muchless 100x that.

All that for reading words written by someone else? I’ll do it for $500,000.

I like Lester Holt. His tone and manner are authoritative without being smug, and we do not get any glimpse of his politics.

Williams is making $10 Mil a year.
Holt makes $4 Mil a year.

And yet, these idiots gleefully read aloud the Democrat/Soros Hate propaganda against CEO’s making over $1 Mil a year...

Hypocrite much?

He's gotta come up with a better story that that!

paid $77,000 per week

paid to spew Obama Cult crap to the diminishing audience who listens.

The hilarious part: he wants his pay to be increased to $192,000 a week.

Is that a whiff of race card on the breeze? Holt sure wants a fast track to the big money, eh? He’d best not get too pushy, or to paraphrase that old WKRP quote: “And now, more [news] and Les Holt...”

I rarely watch NBC, but when I do,, I have always thought Lester Holt was just as good, if not better, than Bran Williams.

So, my vote is give Lester the same offer in salary as BW got.

Williams was not worth minimum wage.

Don’t hire him, NBC. Send him back to ID, which I watch. I think he does a good job there. I will never see him on NBC, which my TV never shows.

(Well, maybe if there is a sports event presented there.)

NBC needs a salary cap, just like the NFL and NBA.
