Former Gov. George Pataki of New York has canceled campaign events in New Hampshire to deal with a family health emergency.
Mr. Pataki, a Republican, said in a statement that he was pausing his White House bid because his son-in-law, David Levy, had a stroke and was at the intensive care unit at a Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.
Mr. Patakis campaign said that his daughter Allison and her husband were traveling on Tuesday on a flight to Seattle from Chicago for a vacation ahead of the birth of their first child when Mr. Levy suffered a life-threatening stroke. The plane was diverted to Fargo, N.D., where he was placed in I.C.U. before being transported to Chicago.
This episode is a shock to us all, as David, only 30 years of age, is a strong young man who enjoyed excellent health, Mr. Patakis campaign said in a statement. We are praying for his recovery and welcome everyones prayers and good wishes.

It is by the grace of God that each of us enjoys the gift of another day. We will be praying for the recovery of this young man.
Prayers for Mr. Levy and his family.
May God be with them to heal, strengthen, and restore them to a full and satisfying life. In Jesus’ name.
Hopefully he gets a a CAT scan right away to rule out a SAH...often misdiagnosed, with dire results.
Terrible news, I hope and pray this man will be OK.
Prayers for the young man.
But Mr. Pataki needs to stop the madness and waste of time with his "running" for President.
I haven't been able to find any more in depth coverage about David Levi's condition. But you are definitely right... approximately fifteen years ago the receptionist where my wife worked, a young mother began having a severe headache and then collapsed. She was taken to the hospital where her condition wasn't correctly diagnosed so appropriate treatment was delayed for many hours. She went into a coma and her husband was told she was not likely to survive. Fortunately, she did pull through, but she experienced brain damage which caused her a lot of ongoing difficulties.
