Once again information emerges that Prosecutor Marilyn Mosby is an integral actor in the circumstances surrounding Freddie Grays arrest and death, rather than an objective prosecutor simply addressing a criminal case.
Roughly three weeks before Baltimore police officers arrested Gray for possession of an illegal knife Mosby herself was strongly advocating for substantially increased policing in the very neighborhood where Gray would be taken into custody, according to a report by the Baltimore Sun.
Lt. Kenneth Butler, a shift commander for more than a decade, and a representative for an advocacy group for women and minority officers, is quoted in the Sun report as saying that he had never before seen such orders come from the states attorneys office. Further, he expressed no uncertainty about what the consequences would be: Once youre given an order, you have to carry it out. Its just that simple. And in terms of the tactics that would necessarily be involved?
They want increased productivity, whether it be car stops, field interviews, arrests thats what they mean by measurables. You have to use whatever tools you have whether it be bike officers, cameras, foot officers, whatever you have to abate that problem. So youre going to have to be aggressive. (emphasis added)
The original source of the order is Mosby herself, according to emails unearthed by the defense counsel that were sent to the six police officers criminally charged in Grays death. In that email, Joshua Rosenblatt, the division chief of Mosbys Crime Strategies unit writes:
States Attorney Mosby asked me to look into community concerns regarding drug dealing in the area [in which Gray would later be arrested] . . . [by] targeting that intersection for enhanced prosecutorial (and hopefully police) attention. (emphasis added)
Rosenblatts email was sent to Baltimore police Major Osborne Robinson, who then forwarded the message to several supervisory officers working the relevant neighborhood. Robinson also told these supervisory officers to begin daily narcotics initiative . . . effective immediately in the neighborhood, and cautioned that he would be collecting daily measurables on their performance.
One of those supervisory officers was Lieutenant Brian W. Rice, who would be one of three officers who placed Gray under arrest, and who is now charged with manslaughter, second-degree assault, and other offenses.
The defense lawyers for the six Baltimore police officers charged in Grays death are using the disclosure of Mosbys advocacy for increased policing in Grays neighborhood as yet another argument for having her recused from the case. In a motion filed yesterday in Baltimore Circuit Court they note that
Mrs. Mosby herself is now an integral part of the story and as such is a central witness. This is a case where the witness and the prosecutor are one and the same.
As usual, Mosbys office has no substantive response to these new allegations, stating only that Consistent with our prosecutorial obligations, we will litigate this case in the courtroom and not in the media.
Naturally.
That Mosby is really a loose cannon. She and Obama would make a great team.
Now we know (one of the reasons) why she wanted a gag order.
...go get rid of the drug deals, ask them nicely. /s

These items are the best for the charged officers. IIRC Mosby is not a criminal law based attorney, I think she was an insurance lawyer. Her mistakes were large, and caused by her inability to get criminal law based prosecutors to be involved in the initial stages of this case. I believed she was told outright at the beginning that she was wrong by competent attorneys in the area and she went ahead anyway.
I think the officers have competent attorneys in their criminal case and I hope their civil attorneys are salivating.

All of this makes me wonder about her ‘support staff’.....are they rookies or insurance lawyers as well?
In the end....the only guy who screwed up was the guy who didn’t buckle Freddie into his seat. I don’t know the amount of guilt and I have doubts if Freddie was charged up on some drug and the buckling would not have mattered. Wasn’t there a second guy in the vehicle....on the other side of Freddie, and he suffered no injuries during the trip at all?
Mosby was some bright star of the party from Baltimore....who would have been mayor or governor within six years. In twelve....she might have been even some presidential contender. Now? She’s finished and will end up as a foundation player for someone or working for CNN.
Don’t forget: Adam Lanza died one day prior to Sandy Hoax. Is it a coincidence that the figureheads who are vital to this Baltimore drama are black and female and leftist and tow the regime’s line? NO, NO and NO!
My guess is that the senior criminal prosecutors told her the truth. Baltimore has numerous homicides EVERY year. They have competent homicide specialty prosecutors. It does sound like even the competent misdemeanor newbies did not want to do this. Mistaking the state law for the city law when it is printed on the citation? That is not an excusable mistake. It is bizarre.
I hope she has the same fate as Nifong, and this is investigated for what it is...but I really need more unicorns in my life.

Did she tell them to break suspects spines in the process as well?
I didn’t realize that prosecutors could give orders to cops.
Where is the video of that?
Spine was fine when they arrested him. Spine was broken while in custody. Narrows down the suspects.
Tell that hoax story to the parents and relatives of those dead kids and teachers.
Self inflicted, according to another thug who was a witness.
Who later retracted it.
Under what threat or offer?
ItS almost like she set the police up to become a celebrity since her stint on Judge Judy was a failure.
One could ask the same of his original version. Regardless, we don't know which version is true as a result.
What do you mean would? I suspect that they already are just that.
