Clinton Pushing for Automatic Voter Registration
Patriot News Daily ^ | 6/5/2015 | Staff

Hillary Clinton made it clear this week that she is not just seeking votes, she is seeking to overhaul the way we vote.

At speeches in Texas, Clinton railed against voter ID laws, praised efforts to expand early voting periods, and made the case for automatic voter registration. In the latter case, Clinton believes every American who turns 18 should be automatically registered to vote. She also would like to see everyone already over 18 registered in a similar way, though she declined to say how she would make this happen.

Clinton’s remarks on automatic voter registration come only months after President Obama mentioned the prospect of mandatory voting. Obama wasn’t proposing legislation by any means, but it’s clear that the Democrats feel the way forward is to get as many people to the polls as possible. Especially if the rules are so vague that even non-citizens are easily able to cast a ballot. These proposals are difficult to fight because Republicans risk appearing as though they want to suppress certain voters when they make the case against these policies. And of course, that’s part of it.

But that’s not all of it by a long shot. We owe it to our electoral system to make sure it is as free of fraud as we can get it. By following Clinton’s lead, it would be harder than ever to make sure that every vote is legitimate.

Automatic registration and mandatory voting go to another problem, and it’s one worth pausing to consider. Quite frankly, what is the benefit to making it easier for people to vote? It’s already about as easy as it can get. When we start talking about making it even easier (or mandatory), what portion of the population are we reaching out to? We’re reaching out to those unwilling to endure even the tiniest burdens of participation. In other words, those who couldn’t care less about elections.

Is our country improved by bringing these people into the voting booth? True the Vote issued a statement that said, “Clinton’s embrace of mandatory or ‘universal’ voter registration may sound above reproach, but the actual means to accomplish such a policy would risk substantial voter dilution for citizens.”

As an American citizen, you have the right to make your voice heard. But those rights come with certain civic responsibilities. If you care enough to vote, you should care enough to get informed. If you care enough to vote, you should care enough to get registered. And if you don’t care enough to take these small steps, then maybe you don’t care enough to vote.

Clinton and Obama make it sound as though they want to make us a more democratic country. In truth, they want the ignorant, the illegal, and the fraudulent to decide elections from here on out. That is, after all, their constituency.

It would be fun to push Hillary!

She's like the Slinky toy. Good for nothing, but it brings a smile to one's face as she's shoved down the stairs.

Unfortunately, our election system is simply down to who can cheat better than the next guy and, at this (cheating) liberals have no equal.

Well, let’s make it super easy and pass automatic voting.

We should go back to:

1) One-day voting on a Tuesday, show up in person, many small districts where people knew each other.

2) Little old Christian ladies using dual-control by party affiliation, checked the signatures and counted the votes manually.

3) It took a couple of days to get the results but we all waited without exit polls.

People make a conscious decision NOT to register to vote, even more so than people who do. In Pennsylvania, you've got to specifically opt out when you get a driver's license or photo ID either issued or renewed.

I've had and heard this conversation many times with voters talking about family members or neighbors as a precinct election judge. Their reasons are as numerous as the people who opt not to register. Often, these reasons are more logical than the choices of those who do register. We should respect their right to choose.

There’s already 65,918,507 people that are obviously too stupid to be allowed to vote.

Many of them were already too dead to be voting.

If you want to learn where American society and economy is headed, study Latin America. My favorite is Argentina. The similarities are striking.

BTW - Argentina has mandatory (and enforced) voter registration and voting....

VOTER FRAUD? WHAT VOTER FRAUD? I guess they're so busy raking in money at the Clinton Foundation, voter fraud is not a conversation starter (/snix).

REALITY CHECK The cunning Clintons are revving up the "Hate-Republicans Vote".....accusing Republicans of intentionally attempting to disenfranchise voters based on race, age and poverty level.

The Clintons are filing lawsuits in several states ---the states they need to put her decrepit carcass in the WH, natch. The Clintons think nothing of overthrowing our historic Constitutional protections. Their game is to open the flood gates to voter fraud and to use the legal system to undermine the citizenry's freedom to vote.

This is is just a peek at the shady activities the Clinton camp is planning. The Clinton camp has a zillion poison-tipped arrows in its quiver aimed at eviscerating the basic freedoms guaranteed to Americans by law.

Voting still works that way where I live.

Only change in recent years is the presence of very stern and out-of-place black poll watchers from who-knows-what organization.

“though she declined to say how she would make this happen.”
She doesn’t want to discuss the trains to the voter registration camps.

How would that be done? The only agency that has everyone’s date of birth is SSA but doesn’t have everyone’s current address.

Here’s a better idea. Get the death records of recently deceased and automatically cast their votes. That way we could be sure the dead only vote once. < /s>

I WOULD abolish the requirement to register, as well as the requirement to show a photo ID. Those things are merely crutches, and are not required to have a true democratic process. The ballot should simply be freely available to ALL people in our society.

Simply complete your ballot and attach it to the back of your 1040 when you file your tax return. That is all.

(Don’t pay taxes? Then you don’t really have a dog in the fight and therefore no need to vote anyway!)

Why settle for automatic registration when you can have automatic voting. Just push the button, and it's done!

Like that one.

Additionally, property owners should be the only ones that could vote. This would eliminate all of Manhattan AND boroughs.

There is no way that--given the vastly different levels of reasoning capability, the gross conflicts of interest among those obtaining benefits from levels or agencies of Government, and the disparities in focus--that universal suffrage is beneficial. Yet almost no one dares challenge the idea, or the contrivances of those who are able to motivate the virtual mob, to make it ever easier, to get that virtual mob to the polls.

We are going to lose everything unless we get over our squeamishness on addressing this--and on addressing the present mass of incongruous immigration. Our institutions were created by men, who looked to a suffrage, that was far more focused--and intelligently focused--on what was relevant to a benign future, than anything we have today.

Hillary is such a repugnant piece of work, that in a normal world and a polite society she would be relegated to cleaning ‘men’s’ latrines.

She looks like she has a serious vaginal disease. (No doubt due to a Muslim tongue.)

Her feckless, millionaire leach of a husband always has his mouth open whenever photographed.

They’re America’s political mafia.

Hey Democrats!

Let’s just go to Mexico, Central and South America and just register everybody to save a lot of save time.

Why not?
