I think most 14 & 15 year olds know that what Josh did is wrong. Especially a family like the Duggars who are so strict about even hugging each other.
I don’t know if Arkansas law would have tried him as an adult or not.
Because the Duggars chose to make money by putting their very young children on TV. They make money injecting themselves into moral and political issues, doing robo-calls making endorsements and speeches. Plus the child-molester son was the public point man for the AFA against gay marriage.
When you make your living off the public, you don't get to say "no" just because you don't want the bad stuff to come out.
I'm a conservative Christian. Millions are. But most of us don't make our money in the media. Its hypocritical of them (or you) to say that the media attention isn't wanted when they've made cash off of everything including their miscarried baby.

Well I haven’t been following this ordeal...so I listened to the videos linked.
Based on what the parents stated, and how they handled this seemed appropriate to me. ...understanding that the kid was 14 at the time etc. I likely would have done the same...kept it in house as a parent and for the sake of my kids...until I could see there was a more serious issue needing to get addressed. Which is what they did.

After the clips I’ve seen of this interview, I would be shocked if TLC even considered putting the show back on the air. For one thing, what companies would spend a dime advertising on the show, ever again?
I think more of this is being made media fodder than needs be...and likely also there program, which I have not seen nor interested in doing so.
Unfortunately once anyone go’s public with anything the wolves are always there to ravage whatever sense of dignity anyone might have. Holly wood style all the more.
If this family has done wrong it’s putting their family out there to begin with....which in today’s world will bring nothing but trouble for doing so.
With all due respect, I would hope that you (or any parent) would see the situation as “a serious issue needing to get help” the FIRST time your son came to you and admitted molesting his sisters, not the THIRD time.

In the old testement Moses thought his sins were hidden when he killed the Egyptian....as Christians the Duggars should have known that biblical history and been more forthcoming especially since they decided to become the image of Christianity on tv.

No...I would hope as a parent I would have enough common sense and relationship with my son to have an conversation and correct it, most parents are well aware enough to handle this privately. However with it being repeated thereafter I would have certainly then sought outside help as this family seems to have done.

The Duggars clearly live a highly repressed lifestyle. Their son came into his adolescence with hormones going crazy, sexual drive taking off and with no support or guidance to manage a very real force of nature. The kid acted out badly and the parents in their own repressed mindset were not prepared to properly address this adolescent problem. Looks like they wanted to apply a repressive interpretation of their faith to deal with it and only took the next step when they recognized they couldn’t pray the problem away.
I haven’t ever watched their show but can’t flip through the channels without seeing them. This interview reminded me of why. I find them highly repressed, not just sexually, but socially. They are not bad people and I would hope Josh has not repeated his very bad actions. He has a wife now and hopefully a natural sex life with her. By the way, the release of his records was highly illegal.
