Thank you for sharing, but how does this relate to the Duggars? I am not seeing the parallels.
I don’t know why, call me silly but I really lack trust with media, especially opportunities to destroy conservatives, Christians and Republicans. The parallel and truth is that some children in puberty act out, that does not make them pedophiles or child molesters and a reason to brand them for life, unless of course, they are raw meat for the MSM. What Bill Clinton, a powerful, middle aged adult with vast sexual experience, did to Monica Lewinsky, nineteen, was IMO, a predatory act, but MSM described it as two adults having consensual sex and nobody’s business. So sorry if I don’t buy the hype on this Duggar family, which until now I have never heard of before this story.
Five times (that we know of). With his sisters and a babysitter. One of the sisters was 5 years old. He was 14-15 years old.
Is that just puberty getting the best of him, or perhaps a little more troubling?
BTW, before I forget, I noticed the girls often used the phrase “safe space.” I didn’t quite get the meaning of that. Is it a Gothardism, do you know?
No idea, but with a brother like that in the house having a safe space would be a good thing.
They mentioned two safeguards: Locks on the doors and a prohibition on hide and seek. I don’t recall any reported events involving hide and seek, except maybe the laundry room incident(?). Perhaps there are more incidents that did not get reported.
The more the Duggars talk, the more likely the story starts to unravel.
And where is dear reformed Josh? So far Mommy and Daddy and his sisters have spoken in his defense. Time for him to put on his big boy pants and quit hiding behind the floor length skirts of his kin.
I am not defending him, there is no doubt he needed intervention and counseling. The age doesn’t mean a lot to me as boys have vastly different maturity levels. I just don’t see this as something the world needs to be alerted to. However, if others come forward with similar experiences as he got older then it is and should be a big deal.
The thing is, the story the parents are now telling—and by extension, the girls-—contradicts what the parents told the police in the formal statement.
Currently the story is that Josh touched the girls over their clothing, that they never knew about it, and that he was the first one to let them know what he had done.
But according to the police report, they first found out when one of the girls came to them, crying, and told them what had happened. They did nothing at that point.
The report also said that he forcibly fondled their breasts and vaginas under their clothing.
So, the parents either lied then, or they’re lying now.
I agree with Jimbo that I think the girls were coached. They stumbled at times, and looked to the other to pick up the narrative. Also, when Megan Kelly asked if they truly were unaware of what Josh did, the one on the right sort of fudged her response...looked startled, said something vague, and moved to another subject.
Now I know those girls are adults, but I don’t really blame them for going along with the family story. They were raised in a very repressive cult in which sexual abuse is pervasive, and they’ve been shut off from all but cult families. They do things a certain way, and they really don’t know any better.
When you stand up and begin to throw stones at society, sometimes the rocks start coming the other way. They placed themselves in the spotlight, made millions off the show, groomed Josh for a life of politics, and made the serious mistake of thinking that God would protect them from being found out.
There are some who say that this is just a political hit job. To that I say, yeah, probably so. However, they made themselves political and. in the rough and tumble world of Arkansas politics, reaped the whirlwind.
They used the same phrases as their parents, pointed out what a great job their parents did, and stumbled around a little at some points.
For the most part though, they did pretty well and the TLC spinoff program should keep the money train rolling for them.
Yeah, like I said earlier, even Josh’s victims have gone before the cameras, but he’s hiding.

Curious, as my personal opinions have never caused a police report, emotional/physical/ or sexual harm to any sibling, caused locks to be placed on bedroom door (for the safety of others), or even ceased the playing of childhood games of hide and seek. Oddly, my opinions also DID NOT place this family into the public forum by somehow “forcing” them to show case their ever growing family FOUR years after these events occurred...But according to YOU my opinions (along with those of MY ilk—who knew I had “ilk”???) ARE THE PROBLEM...
Step away from the Gothardism...it’s a cult...controlling and brainwashing its Quivering victims...that is what the problem generates from for the Duggars. They turned over their common sense and terms of Christianity to a weird old man who himself was charged with rampant sexual misconduct. The Duggars “circle” of trusted fellow believers also included the now infamous Arkansas state trooper who ALSO was charged and CONVICTED of sexual misconduct...SEE A PATTERN FORMING HERE? But none of THAT caused “the problems” for the Duggar family...nope...all blame lies with commentators, like myself, on the Internet...
