Werner Klemperer’s cousin Victor Klemperer wrote “The language of the 3rd Reich” about how the nazis manipulated the German language to make fascism more palatable to Germany. V Klemperer remained a “free” Jew in nazi Germany due to the fact that he was married to a wealthy and influential socialite. It also helped that he lived under virtual house arrest until he and his wife fled the bombing of Dresden.
Composer / conductor Otto Klemperer was another family member.
