Sunday on Fox News Channels Media Buzz, retiring host of CBSs Face the Nation Bob Schieffer said maybe the mainstream media was not skeptical enough about then-Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) when he ran for president in 2008.
When host Howard Kurtz asked, Many people in this country, as you know, think the three broadcast networks are too biased, too liberal. Would you agree looking back in the media gave Barack Obama an incredibly easy ride in 2008, and for much of his presidency?
Schieffer said, Well, I think, I think the whole political world was struck by this fella who sort of came out of nowhere with this very unusual name and when he won out in Iowa, I think people sat up and took notice.
He added, Maybe we were not skeptical enough. It was a campaign.

I’m speechless...
That will be all the admission we get. But good for him for admitting it.
No he didn’t come out of nowhere. All of you (the news media) shilled for him like you were chasing a prostitute.
“the whole political world was struck by this fella”
I was gobsmacked that we would elect a communist.
DUH...
Ya’ Think??????
Ya’ think ? Geez what cave has he been living in ?
You cannot tell me that the media did not know who Obama was. There is no question in my mind that the media knew exactly who they were covering for.
Finger still in the air.
It is rather humorous when one tries to redeem themselves in the face of obvious bias throughout their entire history. It’s like trying to pull out some swiped toilet paper from bowl, dry it off and then try to hold it “clean, new and rehabilitated.”
**** MAYBE ??? ****
He reveals how incredibly stupid the media talking heads are.. the studio lights must bake their brains or sumthin.
Another startling conclusion; maybe Admiral Kimmel wasn't skeptical enough about the quality of Pearl Harbor's security measures, given the heightened tensions of late 1941.
I heard part of the interview on the radio and he also said it wasn’t the media’s job to vet the candidate, it was the other party’s job. I guess he means the liberal candidates.
Kinda late, huh Bobby? The damage has been done and you won’t be around long enough to “enjoy” the benefits. Bleeding heart liberal!
IMO this is typical. The lib media ignores what everybody is yelling about, then when it’s way too late the say “ya know, we just noticed something”........Charlie Rose and brokaw did the same thing:
ROSE: I don’t know what Barack Obama’s worldview is.
BROKAW: No, I don’t, either.
ROSE: I don’t know how he really sees where China is.
BROKAW: We don’t know a lot about Barack Obama and the universe of his thinking about foreign policy.
ROSE: I don’t really know. And do we know anything about the people who are advising him?
BROKAW: Yeah, it’s an interesting question.
ROSE: He is principally known through his autobiography and through very aspirational (sic) speeches.
BROKAW: Two of them! I don’t know what books he’s read.
ROSE: What do we know about the heroes of Barack Obama?
BROKAW: There’s a lot about him we don’t know.
Unbelievable.
Libruls whitewashing history again. It goes far beyond the fact the the media was not skeptical enough of an unaccomplished affirmative action lawyer with a murky life narrative. The journOlistas even protected Hussein by aggressively attacking anyone raising flags about him as racists.
And those journalists that wanted to actually do proper investigative reporting against the regime were shut down...see Sharyl Attkisson and her book “Stonewalled: My Fight for Truth Against the Forces of Obstruction, Intimidation, and Harassment in Obama’s Washington”
Well there ya go. It was and is indeed.
