Or maybe standards shouldn’t change.
I can't imagine any Ranger worth his salt willing to lower standards. I call this BS.
Oops, I made a mistake. Only 3 women students, not 5 as I said will be allowed to restart at Day 1. 5 have been sent to their home station and cannot continue.
The Army Times article explains why all 8 students were not allowed to continue and the three cited reasons were not related to physical standards. The three reasons, either one or in combination as applied to each student was failure to meet standard for leading patrols, bad peer evaluations, or Excessive bad spot reports.
Ranger students fail patrols because they cannot perform satisfactorily when they are placed in a leadership position, usually because they cannot perform the tasks that are required to accomplish the mission. Bad spot reports come from the lane graders for failing to perform tactical tasks successfully or violate one of the rules of the school. Falling asleep is the most frequent offense. Peer reviews trip up students who let the team down. Most times, students are not the leader, but they are expected to do their own job and to help others, including the leader, get through the mission. Students who wont’ or can’t be a team player won’t survive peer reviews.
The Christian Scientist article focuses on the physical standards, but at this stage of the course, the core requirements for leadership are the reasons for most failures and that is what happened to these 8 soldiers. Not there a rational argument will matter, the feminists will demand a change in standards and they will get it.
And that the standards that keep them out are outdated.
Welcome to the New America. The Barack Obama/MSM America where being the best of the Best is no longer the goal. The goal is to make everyone the same. Not by raising those that are lower but by lowering us all to the same point.
