Since Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon, the iconic visual of the American flag they left behind marked NASA’s success in going where no man had gone before, marking their arrival for future visitors to see. Since then, all space suits worn by Americans have been adorned with the American flag. However, NASA has been supporting a design that may replace the American flag during space travel. The new flag, called the International Flag of the Planet Earth, is expected to represent Earth as a whole, rather than segment only the United States.
According to the International Flag of the Planet Earth’s official website, the new flag is intended to represent Earth as a whole and to “remind the people of Earth that we share this planet, no matter of national boundaries.” NASA is hopeful that other countries will adopt the new flag during their space expeditions and bring forth a level of solidarity across the planet, rather than segment the space race into different teams.

This is a STUDENT PROJECT at a Swedish University and apparently he got the background pictures from NASA & JPL to which he added the flag he designed. This is something NASA PR does routinely for education projects.
I don't think NASA needs to be bombarded unless further info reveals a need!

That started happening years ago. It is a shame, too. My late husband worked there from 1966-1988. It had started being very political when he quit.
My son is majoring in aerospace engineering and will more than likely be employed by this outfit

When the good shares its scientific discoveries with everyone, it is road paving. It paves the road to allowing evil to profit from the achievements of virtue.

Stop going on vacations and buying things. Generates revenues too much for “planet earth” flags. If they keep poking America in the eye, few will lift a finger to stop that flag from being replaced by black one.
That is a truly awesome symbol for a flag. We need something that will inspire fear in any “evolved”, peace-loving aliens we come across. Something that tells them we mean business, right before our space-marines invade their puke-covered planet. Perhaps the obverse can be embroidered with “We’re the planet your mother warned you about”.
The Fruity Spirograph flag need not apply.
In trying to justify their existence by proposing replacement of the American flag, NASA apparently doesn’t have enough to do. Let’s defund them.
Then the EPA. The Dept. of Education. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (three hours later) the Internal Revenue Service, the Department of Energy ....
