If you think that what is written by Ovid et al is going to cause you consternation and introversion, then try walking the streets of West Baltimore, Southside Chicago, parts of Cleveland, N. Y City, West Philly, New Haven, Ct, and Detroit.
That reality will scare you shitless. Reading an old piece of literature isn’t going to create an atmosphere of “oppression”, “misogyny” or “fear”. Walking the streets of a major city will.
