World has no choice but to decarbonize: U.N. climate chief

BARCELONA (Thomson Reuters Foundation) - Responding to climate change in the next 15 years is the world's "mega development project", given the need to invest trillions of dollars in infrastructure, creating jobs and economic stability, the United Nations' top climate change official said on Tuesday.

"It makes fundamental economic sense" for countries to push forward on tackling climate change because of the benefits it will bring in terms of food, water and energy, as well as employment," Christiana Figueres told a carbon market conference in Barcelona.

This, together with the speed at which businesses are acting on climate change and efforts to put a price on carbon, mean "a decarbonized world is now irreversible, irrefutable," the head of the U.N. climate change secretariat told the conference.

"We are going to do it, because frankly we don't have any other option," she said.

Decarbonization refers to shifting from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources, and improving energy efficiency, in order to cut planet-warming emissions to a net zero.

Rachel Kyte, the World Bank's special envoy for climate change, said to decarbonize economies, "we will need to begin with extraordinary ambition at the end of this year" in Paris where countries are due to agree a new global deal to tackle climate change.

Experts say the national plans countries are now compiling for that deal are unlikely to add up to the reductions in greenhouse gas emissions needed to keep global warming to an internationally agreed limit of 2 degrees Celsius.

Market mechanisms, such as carbon taxes and emissions trading schemes, would be key in mobilizing a global response on a big-enough scale, Kyte said.

There it is - a world tax. Who gets the money?

The only answer, if you take this seriously, is nuclear power. But these people don't take it seriously, it's quite apparent. Not in physical terms.

As a carbon based life form I feel that I should speak up and oppose this kind of talk.

Let us not forget that ridding the world of millions if not billions of useless eaters has always been of paramount importance to globalist socialists. Refusing healthcare, heating and cooling, abortion as “choice,” promoting unhealthy lifestyles, destruction of the traditional family and intentionally dividing citizens against each other and maliciously stirring up murderous hatred of one group (i.e. white people) by another group (black people) are really forms of passive euthanasia, especially when murderous hatred finally explodes into widespread murder.

The “world tax” is a mild consequence compared to the systemic Climate fanaticism cultivated in the last 15 years (or more.)

The Climate Change zombies are for the most part gone and certainly a threat to the Constitutional liberty we struggle to retain.

The average (yet ultimate) Jane and Joe must confront the Climate agenda at the risk of being embarrassed and ill-informed. For each confrontation with the typical Climate zombie, one WILL gain valuable insight into how the Climate game is played and how it can be ultimately won.

Climate zombies are not your friend. Now go hunting...

For myself this little quote makes perfect sense. It took awhile for me to see it but about six years ago it hit me that this was indeed true.

So many altruistic programs and goals were being proposed and lauded both here and elsewhere. But the actual results? Not so good for people of certain classes.

And then we have the LGBT(whatever else they want to add on) movements. All of those have a common ingredient though, no breeding, as all of the various permutations are sterile. Population control through non-productive sex, how novel. And let’s not add on the medical and health conditions that go along with the ‘lifestyle’.

Personally I believe that if ‘they’ could get away with it that the people of the world would be systematically ‘culled’ until a certain population point was reached. And I have heard those numbers as being between 90 and 250 million for the entire planet.

Read about Greece and Cyprus and the other PIGs. Look at ISIS. Look at the Russian Bear on the prowl. Look at the lefties wrecking the US economy. Anyone with their head so high in the clouds that they think this nonsense is a top 15 agenda item must re-assess. The world is falling apart, we can’t manage what we already have that needs managing and now we’re going to to take over God’s business?

Good luck with that, with carbon being the fourth most abundant element in the universe after hydrogen, helium, and oxygen.

An idiot’s agenda.

And it will be accepted by idiot populations dumbed down by decades of idiotification enforced by the educational and media establishments.

If we could stick to just eliminating the globalist socialists, I could go along with that.

Nothing systematics about what they want to do. If it weren’t for society restraining their hand, they would kill billions in a single day if they could.

The Russians researched this decades ago

Abiotic oil

Someday they will discover an otherwise lifeless plant oozing “fossil fuel” if they haven’t already

The carbon trading schemes are the key driver. There will be people taking fees out of every carbon trade. The amounts could be in the trillions. This is what is driving the big money supporters of “global warming mitigation” - pure avarice.
