January 3, 2011 - Walker assumes Office of Governor of Wisconsin.

June 27, 2011: Walker Revokes In-state Tuition For Undocumented Students Attending Univ And Colleges In Wisconsin "- On Sunday, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker (R) signed his two-year 2011-2013 budget, which included ending in-state tuition for undocumented students attending public universities and colleges. In-state tuition for undocumented students was approved two years ago by former Governor Jim Doyle (D) after the Hispanic community struggled for 10 years to pass it."... [only state that has done it]

March 2015:“We strongly dispute this account. Governor Walker has been very clear that he does not support amnesty and believes that border security must be established and the rule of law must be followed. His position has not changed, he does not support citizenship for illegal immigrants, and this story line is false,” she announced in an email to journalists Thursday afternoon.”

“I made it clear that for me, if somebody wants to be a citizen, they need to go back to their country of origin, get in line, no preferential treatment,” Walker said. “In terms of what to do beyond that, again, that’s something we got to work with Congress on.”

How do you mean "Tested"?

Cruz has not had the rectal exam that was given to Walker and his family over the years.

If Cruz, his wife or family have any issues, you know they will find it and exploit it. Remember Perry getting crucified over "Niggerhead Ranch" sign or Herman Cain's DNC accuser?

It is those things where Cruz has not been vetted. Imagine finding something about his heritage, family's work in oil or his wife's work at Goldman Sachs? You know these things do not have to be legitimate to gain traction with voters.

Sounds like Walker is “severely conservative” on the immigration issue in Romneyesque fashion. Perhaps he can follow in McCain’s footsteps and promised to build the “danged/damn fence.”

I agree I wish he would announce already. I like Cruz too but I thin Walker would be harder for the left to demonize.

Well, he’s already been targeted for not going to college or whatever and for his beliefs concerning evolution. Plus, the Unions do a pretty fair job demonizing him, no? I think that he will be flayed alive for petty things.

One would hope that Mr. Walker is well-experienced and well-schooled in how to deal with the oiliness, the perfidy, the outright, un-camouflaged bias of a press that is all in for the Progressive agenda.

IMHO

I stand with Scott Walker who has significant executive experience and has made major changes that benefit Wisconsin voters and taxpayers.

Scott Walker will change Washington with his level headed conservatism and actions. He has reformed a blue state that has been out of control for years.

Let Ted Cruz get some executive experience and show what he can do. Let us see if he can change the Senate into a conservative acting legislature. I don’t see any significant leadership that is changing the Senate.

I like Ted Cruz and I hope that he will be a good candidate in the future, but the US needs Scott Walker now to get things done.

He will announce after the Wisconsin budget is passed.

He is still responsible for his Governor’s job.

Don’t you appreciate a person that stands by his responsibilities?

Walker solved a significant problem.

Oh I get it, there's something there and until something bad is found he's not a viable candidate.

What other nonsense and litmus test do Walker bots have?
"You people" have become unhinged.

Walker is learning like the rest of us in dealing with lying liberals.

However he is genuine and will correct mistakes, if any.

WE NEED TO STAND WITH WALKER AND HAVE HIS BACK.

Wow.

Where did I day being vetted was a litmus test?

You seem to have a problem when someone compares and contrasts candidates.

Being vetted is one of Walker’s strengths that Cruz doesn’t have.

One correction to the article: The author states that Walker was first elected Governor in a special election. In fact, he was elected in the regular 2010 gubernatorial election. He gained his County Commissioner seat in a special election initially, however.

>>He is a fighter, but is he conservative on any issue besides unions?<<

In my opinion, he’s conservative on the most important issue of all, an issue that very few conservatives (including Reagan) ever seriously address. The issue? My tagline: Defund the Left....completely!

Take the union fight, for example. Not only did he beat the union, he defunded them by making union contributions voluntary, by law. The result of removing most union negotiating power in Act 10 while simultaneously making union contributions voluntary has severely crippled future union organizing power in the state as membership has plummeted in response to the law’s provisions.

Similarly, Planned Parenthood clinics in the state are closing because he found legal ways to reduce their state funding.

He’s attacking the public school monopoly in his current budget by expanding the Milwaukee voucher program statewide, thereby pulling tax dollars away from generally liberal school administrations.

The Left subsists almost solely on our money, i.e., on tax dollars, with some help from wealthy benefactors as well. Walker attacks their main source of funding, our tax dollars, and he does so consistently. Equally important, he does it via legal means, not maliciously, as the Left is wont to do.

If Walker is elected President, it might finally be time to sell those second (first?) homes in the DC area owned by most of our sitting Congressmen. He is the one candidate with a solid track record for cutting off the Left’s lifeblood, our tax dollars.

The Department of Education wouldn’t survive his first two years in office, in my opinion, and that will just be the starting point. That said, will you hear him campaign on closing it? I doubt it. He’s smarter than that. As soon as he claims it should be shuttered the MSM will combine his lack of a college diploma with his desire to close the department to make him the “anti-education” candidate. Instead, he’ll talk about his voucher initiative, an issue that shows promise for cracking the hold Dems have on inner-city blacks. Only after he takes office will the ax come out for the Dept. of Ed., and it will be swung hard and fast. They won’t know what hit them, and we’ll all be better off for it.

I could be way off base in this analysis, but so far what he’s done in WI has been along those very lines. He didn’t, for example, campaign on Act 10 in his first election in 2010. But that is the approach he decided upon when he was faced with his first budget deficit. That choice speaks volumes, and the fact that he made it stick and survived a recall was impressive. He will change DC in ways Reagan only dreamed of, in my opinion.

My main concern so far is his tendency toward crony capitalism. His WI experience with state-sponsored economic development hasn’t gone well and I’m really hoping he’s learned from that and disavows similar efforts at the federal level. Taking a strong stand against the Ex-Im Bank renewal would be a good start. So far, he appears to tend toward doing so, but only through a spokesman. It’s also interesting that the Koch brothers want it closed down too, despite the Left’s attempts to paint them as crony capitalists.

>>Well, he’s already been targeted for not going to college or whatever and for his beliefs concerning evolution. Plus, the Unions do a pretty fair job demonizing him, no? I think that he will be flayed alive for petty things.<<

The key, though, is that those are “petty things.” The Left has given Walker two serious anal exams, first in the recall attempt in 2012, and again in re-election in 2014. If there was anything beyond petty, we would know it by now. That’s not true of any other GOP candidate or potential candidate. None of them have been vetted by the Left to anywhere near that extent.

That doesn’t make him the best candidate, necessarily, but it does remove a major uncertainty that all presidential candidates face....well, the GOP candidates anyway.

You said he needed to be vetted to find out what dirt he has. That is your Litmus test
or whatever you want to call it. There is no dirt btw and it probably drives
Walker-bots nuts.

SNIP, You:
Cruz has not had the rectal exam that was given to Walker and his family over the years.

SNIP, You:
If Cruz, his wife or family have any issues, you know they will find it and exploit it.

SNIP, You:
It is those things where Cruz has not been vetted.

So tell me exactly how that's not a Litmus test? And there's no need for
being rude like most other Walker-Bots because if you're trying to win people
over to the Walker camp you're doing it wrong.

I think Walker is a RINO btw, a Romney in disguise. And now Coulter has given
Walker her endorsement which isn't doing him any favors since she endorsed Christie
and then Romney. This opens up some eyes.

Cruz is ten times the Conservative Walker is and I'll never vote for Walker.
We don't need a candidate who wants us to vote him in to find out what he'll do.

You should read, not listen, to Walkers speeches, I do, and he speaks words
the same way Obama did and doesn't pin himself down on issues that matter.
