I like watching the F1 cars but I forget they’re racing with the huge margins of victory.
I’m looking forward to the Detroit Grand Prix this weekend. Belle Isle has been completely resurfaced so it should be a good race. (2 races)
Did they tear down the dilapidated yacht club so no one got the wrong impression of what they were getting into as they came across the bridge?
Did they clean out the drainage system so if it rains pit road does not turn into a lake?
Will IMSA actually field more than 15 cars? Inquiring minds want to know. Something really went wrong along the road to the merger. TransAm and World Challenge have reaped the benefits.
I was a crew member for the first Rolex event and the entire trip from the Marriott towers to the island gave me flashbacks from traveling through southern Tehran on my way to the Bazaar.
But, as for NASCAR and Indy, I just realized for the very first time, even two years in Tehran, I missed all of the Indy events. Goes to show just how impressed I am with the new balloon pants cars. Brian France has turned NASCAR into what his daddy feared about sending his kids to IV League schools.
The state seized control of Belle Isle and has been well ahead of schedule. It was actually looking pretty good last summer despite a rough track. They started tearing up the track literally before all the teams had left after last year’s races.
I know that Roger has also been getting lots of movement in reviving the Isle. WC will be the best race. I was with Brumos back then but have my own thing supporting the TA Series.
