The upside down flag is a signal for distress, particularly in wartime situations. It is likely appropriate in Obama’s America, but most people will not see it that way.

A distress signal, I don’t find it in-appropriate in these times but I do fly the Flag right side up.

I heard the bird brains on Beck's show saying yesterday that they don't have a problem with this. "There are worse thing in the mall..." Bull****!
If PacSun and their rapper boy wonder want to get all First Amendmenty on us, DO SOMETHING PUBLIC WITH THE KORAN OR A CARTOON OF MOHAMMED. Then I'll be impressed.

A proper distress signal still has the field of stars to the left, just on the bottom.

I’m not offended. I just think this is an inappropriate place to display a symbol used to display distress. Kids have no idea what they’re wearing.

The upside down flag was a big hit back in the seventies among the America-hating left wingers. Nothing has changed, apparently.
