At the beginning of the sermon on my first Sunday back in a pew the pastor said “we here at the Antioch Church (not the real name of the church) believe the Bible is the true, inerrant word of God.” That struck me as odd. Modern physics, anthropology, archeology and DNA mapping, etc. make it clear that portions of the Bible are not true.

He says parts of the Bible are false but then wants to be a part of the church. If they clown doesn’t believe it, he should take his happy homo self elsewhere.

A reasonable person with those beliefs would have stayed at home, or founded their own Church of Whatever.

However the agenda here is to change YOUR Church so that it conforms to THEIR worldview. If they can tell the Church that some little detail in the Bible is wrong, then they can say the same about any other detail. That's why they come into your space, into your business with their demands. Wouldn't it be logical for homos to buy flowers and cakes from homo florists and bakers? But that wouldn't allow them to force others to bend to their will.

Let God be true and every man a liar....All scripture is given by inspiration of God... I chose to believe the God of my KJB.

Trouble is, most people don’t WANT there to be a God who can tell them what is right and how they should live their lives...what they should believe. A shame and tragedy for them. God wants ALL to come to the knowledge of THE truth. Most will reject it...and suffer the eternal consequences THEY chose. A tragedy.

Such sad days we live in, when solemn belief in the truth of the Bible...the importance of living according to that truth and sharing it with others, can get you violently attacked and labeled a ‘hater’ and a bigot. Topsy turn world.

You can argue that Genesis is parable.

No you cannot. Either all of the Bible is true or none of it is.

The Bible does say homosexual behavior is a sin. But the Bible also says a lot of other things that the Antioch Church, its pastor and the vast majority of Christians ignore. It says things like: homosexuals should be killed; disrespectful children should be taken to the village square and stoned to death; slavery is ok and slaves should do whatever they are told even if they are treated harshly; women should be submissive to their husbands, wear hats in church and be quiet; and remarriage following divorce is adultery unless the reason for the divorce was adultery. I could go on but you get the picture.

Superficially, it may seem like the author has a reasonable point.

However, some of the things mentioned are parts of the Old Covenant (or Old Testament), which was "nailed to the cross" (i.e. abolished), according to Paul in Colossians 2:13-15.

Others were not eternal principles, but were mere accommodations to the customs of the times and places in question. (Note: Paul also admonished fellow Christians to "greet one another with a holy kiss." But that, too, is not generally seen as an eternal principle, to be practiced nowadays by all "true" Christians.)

NO ONE can follow the law, no one but Christ himself kept the Law. That is why he chose Paul to introduce “Grace” to the believers. The Law leads to death (that is scripture) Grace leads to forgiveness and eternal life. After Jesus talked to the young rich man and he turned away, Jesus’ own disciples asked him” then who can be saved??? Jesus answer was what is impossible with men is possible through God. In other words the law cannot save you because you cannot keep the law, but Grace can save you.

Very Interesting. The current Gay theme is that the Bible is OK with homosexuality even though it describes it as an abomination to God. Len is not Politically Correct right now. Poor guy is probably been beat up by the PC police.

This is a very clever distortion of Christianity. Why would this person who obviously does not understand anything about the chronology and the meaning of the Scriptures even want to go to church? I assume he is homosexual and possibly is only interested in the destruction of the Christian faith. Being fat or gluttonous hurts the individual. Changing the building block of society, the father, mother and child model of marriage and the family, which has been the rule as far back as history can see, is destructive to everyone and ultimately will destroy nations if ancient Rome is any example. Homosexuals are a very highly educated group and have many of the top jobs in government, academia, entertainment and media, even though they are less than 4% of this society. On the face of it, they are running a lot of things and can cohabitate to their heart’s content. Why do they want to remake the family in their image and where will this all end? The Supreme Court will rule on gay marriage in a few days and it is one of the most important rulings of our lifetime.
