The setting aside of critical habitat for the endangered jaguar in New Mexico was an “unlawful, arbitrary and capricious” action by federal authorities and needs to be overturned, a new lawsuit says.

...

In March 2014, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service set aside nearly 1,200 square miles along the U.S.-Mexico border as habitat essential for the conservation of the jaguar. Federal officials acknowledged last year when they made the designation that no female jaguars or breeding had been documented in the U.S. in more than 50 years.

...

Reed Hopper, another attorney with Pacific Legal Foundation, said the federal government still will have “veto power” over how private landowners use their property.

“Anything they deem as harmful to the endangered species, like building a fence … the federal government can veto.

To the best of my understanding of the roughly 30 pages of the Constitution, and a couple of external references, there is no constitutional basis for Mr. Hopper’s statement.

Can anybody tell me what I am overlooking?

The lefties hate the US Constitution , the defense of the bill of rights, and civil liberties.

They follow the doublespeak of Roger Baldwin, the founder of the American Civil Liberties Union: Indeed, few leftist organizations in existence today can compete with the ACLU in terms of demonstrated hostility toward what the Declaration of Independence describes as “certain unalienable rights” with which Americans are “endowed by their Creator.”

They seek the social ownership of property, the abolition of the propertied class, and the sole control of those who produce wealth. Communism is the goal.
