Orrin Hatch on Trade Bill: ‘I Don’t Know Fully What’s in TPP Myself’
Breitbart ^ | May 21st, 2015 | by Alex Swoyer

Democrat Sens. Joe Manchin (WV) and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA)went to the Senate floor to push for immediate consideration of a bill that would make the Obamatrade text public — right now Congress has to go to a secured room to review the text and can’t take notes out or discuss what is in it with the public. That motion failed when Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT) objected, since it required unanimous consent.

The two Democrats even praised President George W. Bush, who released his free trade text in 2001. Today, President Obama, who promised to have the most transparent administration in history, is not releasing his deal.

“We’re just asking for some transparency before we have this crucial vote,” said Warren.

"I’m having a hard time getting past this."

Ted knows where the money for his next elections is going to come from: The US Chamber of Commerce.

Thus his positions on "free trade" and "immigration".

As always, when something looks incongruous, follow the money.

I don’t sign a $5 deal without reading it and knowing what’s in it. What is wrong with these people?

"I don’t sign a $5 deal without reading it and knowing what’s in it. What is wrong with these people?"

they damn well know what's in it. They just want deniability.

What's in it is what their money masters want, and that's all they need to know.

It's simple for them.

No votes from the GOP:

Lee

Paul

Collins

Sessions

Shelby

That’s it, and only ONE POTUS Candidate: Paul.

“— right now Congress has to go to a secured room to review the text and can’t take notes out or discuss what is in it with the public.”

Under what law? Under whose authority?

How about the congress not put up any legislation for a vote that hasnt been made fully public at least a month in advance?

"How about the congress not put up any legislation for a vote that hasnt been made fully public at least a month in advance?"

THE WHOLE POINT OF THIS ARTICLE IS THAT THE CONGRESS WANTS THIS AGREEMENT TO REMAIN SECRET.

Any person with integrity will vote against ANY bill they have not read. After reading it,he/she may agree with every word, but no one with integrity will vote for a pig in a poke...Just my honest opinion....

What would happen if anyone were to violate any one of the rules of secrecy?

Well I keep thinking about what Donald Trump said “the politicians are not going to get you to the promised land.”

Like him or not he’s telling the truth about that.

And it should be a requirement that every bill is thoroughly read by every legislator before it is voted on.

Agreed. And the way to monitor compliance is by a short, comprehensive quiz taken by each legislator to prove that they understand it. Any bill in which one third of the legislators fail to achieve a passing grade should be sent back to be simplified.

The agreement is classified and they would be prosecuted by the DOJ for releasing State Secrets.

And that's precisely the brief they have been given.

They don't call the GOP the Stupid Party for nothing.

They also easily qualify for being called the Nutless Party.

It looks like many have found a new single-issue to rant and rail about.....

So, you think this issue is not worthy of single-issue advocacy?

Is it because you have a favorite candidate on the wrong side of it?

Don't be obtuse. I make it no secret I'm a Cruz fan and am supporting him with time and money. When we make a single issue our bellwether, we forget all about the 1001 other issues that we are ceding because of our hissy fits. It got Obama a second term and if a lot of you get your way, it will give Hillary a solid chance because our choices won't be worth the crap you all throw at any Conservative we happen to have in the race.

You already know that, but you will claim "principle" as a reason for another failure to take the WH - and in this climate, if we don't have the WH, we lose double or triple.
