1,000 weapons recovered at Waco biker brawl? Not quite, cops now say

Police in Waco, Texas, have sharply revised downward the number of weapons seized after a deadly brawl in a shopping center parking lot that left nine people dead, 18 wounded and 177 facing criminal charges of engaging in an organized criminal activity..

Police said earlier this week they expected to recover 1,000 weapons but now put the number at about 320.

Snip-- The weapons recovered include 118 handguns, 157 knives and 43 others, which includes brass knuckles and chains. Some weapons had been quickly stashed -- under seat cushions and even in a toilet. Police also said an AK-47 assault rifle was recovered.

Swanton blamed the complexity of the crime scene for some of the confusion about the number of weapons.

On Sunday, members of five motorcycle gangs met at the Twin Peaks restaurant in a shopping center in Waco for what participants have said was a previously scheduled meeting to discuss common issues, such as pending motorcycle safety legislation.

Drivel.

I’ve met many highly placed and well paid business executives that wear a 1%er ring. They’re not scoff-laws; they’re libertarians with the small L.

“Later in April was a two day “Texas COC&I Christian Unity Event”, described as: This event is open to everyone.”

Everyone that agrees to wear patches approved by the Bandidos...

You just keep making a fool of yourself.

If they wear the ring, they wear the colors when they ride.

You’re in way over your head here.

“Even assuming two rival clubs had a beef; anyone who knows about outlaw clubs know they tend to keep things between themselves and not outsiders.”

A beef?

Over 50 Cossacks show up at a Bandidos meeting wearing a Bandidos patch!

Get real.

Even bikers at the event say that the Bandidos rode up seeing them and attacking them.

Late to the thread, I know, but ...

From eyewitnesses other than the FBI we know the biker gang got into a fight with knives, chains, guns etc...

Exactly! And that's why, in the easily-found published mug shots of all those guys fighting with knives and chains that were taken immediately they'd been rounded up, you see all kinds of bruises and facial wounds ...

... Oh .. wait ...

Late to the thread, but:

The bad guys stand to gain respectability from associating with good guys, and the good guys may gain some measure of vicarious adrenaline, from associating with questionable guys.

The arrogance you display in that assumption, of "vicarious adrenaline," speaks volumes. You need to change your screen name because it's way off the mark. Maybe to something like "Template Sap."

I think upon reflection, I’ll stick with “vicarious adrenaline.” I like it, it is original, it still strikes me as a fair appraisal of the situation.

Good luck finding a jousting opponent.
