I tend to agree. It’s only a matter of time before criminalizing “hate speech” becomes a Hillary-like litmus test for Democrat Supreme Court nominees. That will turn the lights out on the First Amendment, and America.

Libs always arrange these things so that THEIR hate speech is protected, and everyone else’s is criminalized. So it will be a crime to criticize Islam, but criticism of Christianity will be allowed, even mandatory among “right-thinking people.”

Indeed. Is "I hate Democrats" considered to be "Hate Speech". Not now, but in the future who knows. I think we have to go back to teaching The Bill of Rights in the schools again. Apparently that is not happening anymore.

Hate speech is hard to define. If I say “Obama is a horse’s A$$!”, in Blue states it would be hate speech against Obama. In RED states it would be an insult against horses!

We need to be careful here......in the Weather Underground's (read Bill Ayers, et al) Manifesto from the 70’s, they advocated for ALL who disagreed with their political positions to be put into encampments in the southwest for ‘reeducation’. If the ‘reeducation’ didn't achieve the goal, those who weren't turned into agreement with their Government were to be eliminated. No joke.

A poll released Wednesday by the online pollster YouGov has found that a plurality of the American public, as well as a majority of Democrats, support limiting the First Amendment to allow a ban on hate speech.

The left is getting more ugly every day!

The purpose of the First Amendment is to protect "offensive" speech. It is not needed to protect everyday speech.

Now the Socialist Democrats, Marxists, Communists, and other leftists want to parse free speech to separate out that which they do not want to hear.

We already have speech police who condemn something someone said ten years ago. Is this not insanity? Are we headed to chaos? Are we "there" yet?
