On May 8, Atlantic City, New Jersey, 5th grader Aarin Moody reached into his pocket to retrieve a “late note” from his mother and a Nerf gun foam “bullet” fell out. Officials at the Atlantic City School District categorized the toy bullet as a “self-constructed weapon” because “it had a toothpick stuck in it.”

my comment was meant to criticize the headline, really.
It was not only a nerf bullet. It was a nerf bullet some kid modified to be more dangerous.
Is he a nerd angry at the bullies who tease him? Is he a bully who thinks it is funny to hurt other kids?

The schools of education and journalism at nearly all of our colleges and universities probably have the lowest ACT and SAT scores of all the schools. Our best and brightest just do not seem to migrate toward these career choices. Now, I know that there are some exceptions, but not enough to raise the average.
This is why it is so difficult to get sane decisions out of most school administrators. They just simply aren’t blessed with much common sense.
The same holds true for journalism majors. They are easily brainwashed by their liberal professors, most of whom have never had a real job. Without their haven in academia, they would be impoverished.

We are all concerned about Common Core and the fools at the Department of Education in Washington. Our real problem is right next door, openly radical leftist who teach our kids and their administrators and school board members who are promoting this marxist garbage.
Do you really want people who are claiming to be “educators” that this devoid of walking around sense anywhere near your children or sharp objects themselves?
The adult educators have left the school house and have been replaced by a bunch of mind-numb fools who bought all the leftist crap shoveled into their skulls in college.
The “educators” who did this need to be named and publicly shamed for the idiots they are in their communities.
