Poll: Americans want socialism and repeal of federal laws
Pravda ^ | May 19, 2015

According to the results, 60 percent of Americans believe the nation is on the wrong path.

The Princeton Survey Research Associates International underlined that 52 percent of those who identified as Democrats, said they had a favorable view of socialism. 33 percent of Independents shared the view.

Among other highlights of the survey, Obama's foreign policy is approved by only 37 percent of Americans and not even one in five like the job Congress is doing.

Noteworthy, that fifty percent of Americans say they're open to allowing states to repeal federal laws if half or more of the states, representing at least half of the country's total population, vote to repeal a law.

Half. Now that's interesting.

In the Fort Hill Address, John Calhoun argued, under his Principle of Concurrent Majorities, that if two thirds of the states voted an ordinance of nullification, then a federal law was repealed.

The people appear to want the bar lowered.

That headline is totally misrepresentative of the story text.

I find it interesting that pollsters provide the number of recipients they BS, er I mean “interviewed”, and this one did not. But who cares, it’s Pravda. Mad magazine has more credibility.

52 percent of those who identified as Democrats, said they had a favorable view of socialism.

When people refuse to or are unable to think, they are left with concrete bound mentality, emotionalism, and fantasies of getting the unearned, the undeserved, and something for nothing.

Concur. I doubt if the people questioned understood what socialism is and entails. If you gave them Robert Heilbronner’s definition of Government Capitalism, they’d probably say, “Oh yeah, that’s what I meant.”

Democrats would have to move well to the right to be Socialist. Republicans are Socialist, Democrats are outright Communist.

They don’t mention what percentage of republicans wanted socialism. Guess that was on purpose.
And with the state of the country, I’m almost relieved to find only a third of independents do.

Americans don’t want Socialism. They want Welfare Statism, which is worse. In Socialism, each has to work according to his abilities. In Welfare Statism, you are permitted to sit on your ass and demand that “the rich” pay for you to live the good life.

52 percent of democrats mistakenly think they would be in charge in a socialist America.

I knew if I lived long enough I’d see a PRAVDA that has more credibility than ABC, NBC & CBS.

I’m not buying this. They may have polled a bunch of low info folks who can’t define socialism.

Wow and they have no idea how socialism affect their wallets.
I was in Europe last couple of summers and few can afford to eat. They have far less clothing and shoes than use because they tax sales in markups of 300% or more.
They have 100 year loans, and they have no social programs for poverty.
They also tax the low wage earners at something like 40%.

All these people approving of socialism know nothing about it.

I suspect that if Princeton pollsters asked low-information poll participants what socialism is that they’d just get a bunch of blank looks.
