Here are the hopefuls, by party, some have declared, there may be some I've forgotten to list, I've boldfaced my two (and only two) favorites and put strikes through the unacceptable candidates (that could grow):
Pubbies (six declared, two to four more within a couple of weeks):
  • Ben Carson [declared]
  • Bobby Jindal (gov of LA)
  • Carly Fiorina [declared]
  • Chris Christie (gov of NJ)
  • Donald Trump
  • Jeb Bush
  • John Kasich (gov of OH)
  • Lindsey Graham [declared]
  • Marco Rubio [declared]
  • Mike Huckabee [declared]
  • Rick Perry
  • Rick Santorum
  • Sarah Palin
  • Scott Walker
  • Ted Cruz [declared]
other possible candidates:
  • Brian Sandoval
  • Kelly Ayotte
  • Mike Pence
  • Mitch Daniels
  • Nikki Haley (gov of SC)
  • Peter King
  • Susana Martinez (gov of NM)
Here are some combos that make sense to me at this time:
  • Ted Cruz, with running mate Donald Trump
  • Ted Cruz, with running mate Carly Fiorina
  • Ted Cruz, with running mate John Kasich
  • Ted Cruz, with running mate Peter King
  • Ted Cruz, with running mate Ben Carson
  • Ted Cruz, with running mate Mike Huckabee
  • Scott Walker, with running mate Susana Martinez
  • Scott Walker, with running mate Marco Rubio
  • Scott Walker, with running mate Brian Sandoval
  • Scott Walker, with running mate Ben Carson
  • Scott Walker, with running mate Nikki Haley
  • Scott Walker, with running mate Carly Fiorina
  • Scott Walker, with running mate Kelly Ayotte
  • Scott Walker, with running mate Peter King
Demwits (3 declared, rest possible or probable):
  • Bernie Sanders (I-VT) [declared]
  • Bill A.K.A. DeBlasio
  • Elizabeth Warren
  • Hillary Clinton [declared]
  • Martin O'Malley
  • Rand Paul [declared]
other possible candidates:
  • Amy Klobuchar
  • Andrew Cuomo
  • Brian Schweitzer
  • Dennis Kucinich
  • Jim Webb
  • Joe Biden
  • Kirsten Gillibrand
  • Lincoln Chafee
  • Mark Warner

Doesn’t he mean “prancing?”

The only thing I can say in Lindsey’s favor is that he has kept his sexual preferences Private. Somehow that doesn’t seem like much of a platform for President, but maybe he can peel off a few RINO votes.

Well, he surely has the conservative vote all locked up.

I think his candidacy is great news. It will split the liberal Republican vote away from Jeb, giving a conservative alternative a better chance at the nomination. Now if only Chris Christie would enter the race too!

Maybe Walker/Martinez. Both have records of fighting abuses of power. Walker stood up to the public employee unions. Martinez just signed a bill ending civil asset forfeiture at the state level.

Yeah, I agree, she’d be a strong running mate, IMHO the best choice. Actually wouldn’t be a bad choice of running mate for Cruz, either, although some might get cranked about an all-Latino ticket (wouldn’t bother me in the least; let’s see, I’ve been accused of being Mormon, Roman Catholic, specific individuals, so just to save time if you’re reading this, I’m about as non-Latino as anyone ever born), even the Latino Demagogic Party camp-followers wouldn’t be able to swing the Latino votes away from that ticket.

...Never been married, No Kids, not even a mention of a girlfriend. No mention of a boifriend. A 60 yr old man has never had a significant other in his life?

Graham does seem a bit effeminate, but in the absence of any evidence that he's homosexual, it's just as likely that he's basically asexual. Back in the day, some "confirmed bachelors" were closet homos, others just didn't care one way or the other.

Frankly, it doesn't matter that much since Graham's politics are probably closer to Hillary Clinton's than to most Republicans.

Rose held by Jack on the Titantic “ I’m Flying “ ...

Lindsey “ I’m running “ through the sweet air of tulips tip toeing my way Gayly free, whispers of my love far away singing sweetly in my ear.

John McCain is going to have to campaign really, really hard this election.

Sandoval is pro-choice, making him an unlikely VP selection.

Thanks Impy. The office of VP was aptly described as “a bucket of warm spit” — e.g., LBJ went from powerful Senate leader to a conspirator in the removal of, uh, I mean, a drunken womanizing blowhard. After late 1963, he had the most to do of any President, before or since, in pursuing the US space program.
