It sounds strange to write “the Blacks” rather than just blacks.
He ought have included a “the whites” in in somewhere.

I agree, that did sound rather disjointed.
Actually, I am so tired of this racial break-down nonsense, that I don’t care if he listed ‘the Whites’ or not. I don’t have a problem with equal time, so if he had done it, it would have been fine with me.
