Poll: Most Bostonians Oppose Death Penalty for Marathon Bomber
UPI ^ | April 27, 2015 | Thor Benson

According to a new poll, most Boston and Massachusetts residents oppose the death penalty for Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

The Boston Globe poll found that fewer than 20 percent of Massachusetts residents supported the death penalty for the Boston Marathon bomber. Only 15 percent of Boston residents believe he should be executed. One-third of Massachusetts residents and one-quarter of Boston residents believe execution is typically appropriate for egregious crimes.

"It seems that voters have concluded that Tsarnaev does not deserve a quick death, but rather should spend the remainder of his days in a windowless cell contemplating the heinous acts that put him there," Frank Perullo, president of Sage Systems LLC, which conducted the poll, told the Globe. "To voters, it would seem death is too easy an escape."

Tsarnaev, 21, was found guilty on 30 counts for the 2013 bombing that killed three and injured 260. His defense team is fighting for a life sentence with no chance of parole, as opposed to a death sentence. He will only get the death sentence if all jurors agree on it.

I say kill him, he only thinks he will get his 72 virgins. When he wakes up in hell and sees Satan that will be the best punishment he can get.

This is a BS poll by the BS Boston Globe. A jury in Boston Federal Court, made up of Boston jurists, found the Boston Bomber guilty and then voted unanimously a sentence of death. This is the only fact that matters.

The Boston Globe is just trying to salvage its own discredited belief in sparing terrorist murderers a death sentence with a fabricated poll. It must really frost the editorial board for the Globe that their attempt to propagandize the jury in this case didn’t work.

You can ask Timothy McVeigh how long it takes, no,wait....

I remember that his execution was relatively quick. Do you remember just how long from verdict to execution? Also did her deny appeals?

If this Muslim coward truly wanted to die — he would not have put on a death penalty phase defense.

Look at how fast McVeigh went to his “reward”. He didn’t fight it.

Here comes the groundswell from the muslim-controlled media to overturn the decision.

He is a FEDERAL convict. Mass has nothing to say about what happens to him. You can ask Timothy McVeigh how long it takes, no,wait....

Are you kidding? Do you think the Feds are any less under the control of Leftists than Massachusetts?

Have you been living in a hole for the last 6 years?

Do you really think a nation that venerates islam from the white house down equates this pig to a disgruntled lone white boy from the midwest?

RUFKM?

Don’t worry, he will be pardoned by Valerie Jarrett on January 19, 2017.

I’m guessing it’s too early to consider his fate sealed.

Too bad they couldn’t have convicted him as a fetus... they wouldn’t have a problem with it then. Liberal scum.

The death penalty is any society’s verification that it places ultimate value on innocent life.

Unless a prison can be made to be 24 hour punitive, miserable locations from which escape is futile — which is not the at this point — then death is the proper punishment for malicious, intentional murder.

I have some problems with life without parole:

Some President like Carter, Obama, Clinton, or even a Bush or Huckabee might pardon the murderer. That possibility, along with escape, leaves the victims’ families always fearing that justice might never be served.

Our prisons could easily evolve into the European model: TV in every cell, weekend leave, elective surgery, conjugal visits, & other amenities. It’s better than home for many prisoners, & completely free. These jails are better than many retirement facilities.

A murderous muslim will no more regret his actions in the name of jihad that a Christian would regret suffering in a muslim jail for their Christian faith. Tsarnaev will never consider his acts heinous. In his sick mind he is a warrior who killed his enemies.

Finally, I don’t want spend one more dime to allow this savage to take another breath. His life is not worth maintaining. It is wrong to spend money feeding & housing the murderer while the victims’ families suffer continuously from the loss of their loved one.

Hang this scumbag immediately. I will gleefully provide a new rope.

McVeigh’s case was expeditious because he waived his appeals.

Most Bostonians are also Massachusettsionians, about as left as “Americans” get. I pity our conservative brothers and sisters in such states.

Depending upon how one selects polling respondents as well as how one phrases the polling questions, one can skew the results into being whatever answers the polling-sponsor’s little heart desires. After all, everyone who is anyone knows that there are just three kinds of lies:

1. Lies
2. Damn Lies
3. Polls

If his defense had only claimed he was part Cherokee he would have polled well for state office. The first Senator from Mass on death row.

If the juror's decision is set aside, there needs to be a drive to get him released outright.
