I know he was probably the most influential guitarist of his era, but I personally never cared for his very urban style. I much prefer the country blues, preferably with a lot of bottleneck.

Got a chance to see him about a decade ago, and he wasn’t looking good then, he had to sit in a chair for the whole gig, but man, he could still play!

Heh, his favorite song was ‘Always on My Mind,’ the Willie Nelson version.

I’ve tried to see him every time he came to town in the last 20 years. Even in his recent performances, where he was obviously in decline, his greatness shined through. I loved going to see him and I will miss him very much.

I heard him on Beale Street years ago and he was fantastic. I’m from Memphis and had lots opportunities to see him but I only went that once. I’m glad I did. I wonder what will happen to Lucille.
