Look to history. Secluded religious orders did just fine during the dark ages.

The most obvious strategy employed is divide-and-conquer along as many lines as possible (race, religion, “global warming”, family values, etc.); a unified “American” population along the lines of 1950s America (where small fringe groups existed, but outside of the mainstream instead of governing as they do today) would end the Democratic Party forever.
I’m in my mid-40s; I can collect Social Security at 67. A younger co-worker told me their retirement age would be 68. I work with several people in their early seventies who simply can’t afford to retire (while NJ will freeze your property taxes at 65, they are frozen at a high rate that forces retirees out of their homes).
Sadly, very regretfully, we need a massive economic collapse, a war between ideologies and unspeakable death then a reset back to real capitalism and the US Constitution.
Instead they spent it on welfare queens and pork barrel projects.

Having an enemy islamist President who is out to bring America to her knees doesn’t help either.
They spent it on programs that undermined the black family, caused crime and cost a fortune...
And giving free medical care to the 50 million illegal aliens who’ve entered the U.S. in the last 10 years is just icing on the cake.
BTW, when push comes to shove, who do you think will be sent to the “Going Home Centers”, old U.S. citizens who worked their arsses off to better our country or the 50 million illegal aliens?

Except that very often those kids move away, get tied up in their own lives, or (increasingly) have no money to care for their parents in a system that (increasingly) is designed to suck away all one's assets as one gets older (if not before.) I am experiencing this 1st hand: I am eldest son and stayed close to home (forgoing more lucrative employment) because I knew the day would come when my parents would need my help. Now they do, my siblings can't or won't help significantly, and are not in the area anyway, and it is dragging ME under... Pats on the shoulder and "hang in there" are all well and good, but do not prevent drowning.
We are IN the collapse now; breeding has practically stopped for Americans, and there is no new generation to raise children, buy homes, etc. The mass trafficking of foreigners to replace the last generation of Americans isn’t the cause of the collapse, but a result of it; without masses of people (ANY people), whole sections of this country would be de-populated.
In “The Lord of the Rings”, the fellowship travels through lands that had been populated by Aragorn’s people; they became obsessed with dying, had few children, and they dwindled in numbers - leaving vacant land and toppled ruins in their wake. Our overlords would prefer to take any steps to prevent that.
Are you looking to care for them in the reasonable (and biblical) model of bringing them into your home?
Or in a far more extravagant model involving maintaining a separate house or a nursing home?
