Kenny, I’m not exactly sure your emphasis there.
Are you lampooning the GOPe folks?
If so, I sure understand why.
If not, I apologize for not quite getting it.
UKIP does give me acute Anglophilia and sometimes I think Ted is our Nigel. But I certainly hope we can do more on this go-round than make a strong statement. My real problem has never been with Emperor Jones Obama, but with the 50%+ that elected him, twice. They are still out there.
I hear ya. I understand where you are coming from.
I think there are a lot of Conservatives that have had enough when it comes to Liberal Republicans.
Bush could barely beat the likes of Gore and Kerry. He didn’t reach out to the Conservatives. He supported amnesty and folks could see his Leftist leanings a mile off.
They stayed home. McCain? Romney?
‘Does Anuzis have ties to Grover Norquist, The Muslim Brotherhood, and Hezbollah?’
I have commented for the last 2 days about this subject, referencing Schlussel’s article, wondering if any Freepers have heard this. No response.
Seems like we will never get a ‘clean’ candidate - with no, or next to no baggage.
Well, there was just an article a few days ago about getting the former head of the CA GOP, for example. It's showing a trend that Cruz is putting together a team that has significant experience from inside the GOP.
I'm a little surprised at the invective - my posting was not intended to be a "negative" for Cruz, but instead to point out that despite his media label of being "too extreme", he seems to be doing a pretty good job putting together a foundation that included experienced "insiders" as well, so clearly his appeal isn't as "fringe" as he's portrayed.
As for the charges that I'm a "Walker" guy trying to tear down Cruz, that's laughable. I'm not that emotionally invested in anybody at this point. My credo has always been, and continues to be, my variation on the Buckley Rule - support the candidate most likely to effect a conservative agenda, which is a combination of actually having a conservative agenda, being able to actually get elected, and getting that agenda (or least significant portions of it) enacted once elected. From my standpoint, it's too early in the process to pick favorites yet, as the early stages of the campaign are a shakedown period to winnow out the "serious" from the "deluding themselves".
Yes, so far, I like what I've seen from Walker and Cruz the most. My estimation of Walker has gone down with some of his... um... "clarifications" on a few issues, though some of that is media chicanery making things look worse than they are. Walker's track record of getting things done in blue Wisconsin, plus his electoral success in a hostile climate, still speak well for him. My big question mark on Cruz has always been whether he would be able to put together an effective campaign organization, as I think he has the best agenda of all the candidates and I'd love to see him in a debate against Hillary or whomever manages to displace her. Articles like this one help my estimation of Cruz by showing he's putting together a team that will actually give him a real chance.
Frankly, I'll stick with what I said a month or two ago - the sooner this race gets narrowed down to Walker vs. Cruz, the better.
See above. I’d appreciate not being mis-labeled and incorrectly accused of any malfeasance or ill will.
I don't intend to let the GOP-E or the media pick the conservative candidate without pushback from real conservatives. A lot of other conservatives feel the same way, and I'm proud to join them and their agenda.

I have a real aversion to the RNC. I consider it to be part of the GOPe. There’s no love lost there.
The GOPe might just as well be the DNC on many issues. It defeats Conservatism constantly.
I’ll be honest that my dislike for the RNC is so strong that it has become a red flag for me when someone is involved with it, or even wanting to lead it. While that could open me up to extreme criticism, the damage done to our cause has been almost fatal.
Let’s not forget that it has been since 1989 that we’ve been trying to get this party to go back to the Reagan doctrine. They absolutely refuse.
So I recognize you might dislike my questions and some comments concerning this guy. I’m not going to be apologetic about it.
When it comes to the RNC and anyone wanting to lead it, I’m going to be a dog on his first bone in a decade.
I have watched other candidates who looked good get involved with Republican insiders. I have also watched them morph further Left right afterward. I can barely trust these candidates. There’s no way I can trust the lesser names that I’ve never heard of before.
I appreciate you coming in to voice your thoughts on this guy. I hope you’re right.
I have also had people assure me some candidate or anther was a good guy only to find out down the road they didn’t know what they were talking about. After Bush, Dole, Bush, Bush, McCain, and Romney, you might say I’m just a little gun shy.
You want to know what makes me more sad than anything? It’s that people will believe things without looking into it themselves. Its that people attack someone and offer no facts except someone’s hate filled rant from some dubious website. Try Google and see what you find,I guarantee, most of it will be fair and balanced.(not fox) (-:
