ANTALYA, Turkey (AP) — In a distinctly different note for a military alliance meeting, European officials ended a NATO meeting with a spirited rendition of "We Are The World."

Taking a break from issues such as the war in Ukraine and instability in the Middle East, NATO and other officials accepted an invitation by a Turkish band to sing a "last song for peace" at a dinner Wednesday hosted by Turkey as the alliance's foreign ministers met near the Mediterranean city of Antalya.

They all sang Willie’s famous line “As God has shown us by turning stone to bread”?

Islamic Heretics! Stone them!

God never “Turned Stones to Bread”.

“Turning Stones Into Bread” was a temptation offered to Jesus by satan himself.

Maybe satan helped write the lyrics of this stupid song?

yeah, I thought about that as I typed the lyrics. But I reverified that those are, indeed, the lyrics.

Never struck me until now.

Jump the shark

A term to describe a moment when something that was once great has reached a point where it will now decline in quality and popularity.

Origin of this phrase comes from a Happy Days episode where the Fonz jumped a shark on waterskis. Thus was labeled the lowest point of the show.

This is highly inappropriate behavior for a military alliance — which is what NATO is. But we can halfway understand this because, by this time in the evening, most of them were probably half-schnockered.

The disgraceful photograph can hardly be intended to inspire fear in our enemies. The whole scene is a fitting symbol for what the West has become.
