O’Malley to announce presidential plans on May 30

Martin O’Malley plans to announce his presidential intentions on May 30 in Baltimore, a move that could present another Democratic challenger to Hillary Rodham Clinton.

The former Maryland governor will hold a conference call with top supporters on Thursday night to discuss his plans for the announcement in his adopted hometown, where he served as mayor, an O’Malley aide said Thursday. The aide spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss internal planning and was not authorized to speak publicly.

O’Malley, who completed his second term as governor earlier this year, has been considering a potential challenge to Clinton, the leading Democratic contender, and made repeated trips to the early voting states of Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. He has cast himself as a champion of progressive causes during his time as governor and appealed to liberal voters within the party who are hesitant to support Clinton.

O'Malley doesn't want Hillary to be president. It's probably because Hillary is a woman. More evidence of the democrat's war on women.

I hope he gets out there and talks to anyone and everyone, highlighting the privilege of the smartest woman in America who doesn’t need to bother speaking. Her mere presence should suffice.

This is actually a shrewd move by O’Mutley. He can see that Sh!tlery has a glass jaw. He wants to be the one that busts it.

This is why he cozied up to the Kenyan anti-Christ all these years. He can attack the Clinton machine and rely on the Kenyan for protection. But he must be careful, or he will wind up being nothing but a stalking horse for Fauxcahantas or some other wretch that comes along late in the game. After all, it’s Gene McCarthy that brought down LBJ, but it’s Humphrey who got the nomination.

OK FReepers; I’ve got some questions to which I sincerely need an answer:

#1. Would a Primary Challenger help Hillary’s Presidential bid by forcing her to campaign and sharpen her people skills?

#2. Would it not be best for our team if she just laid low and marched quietly to her coronation? That would mean a whole year lost of not being out there seeing people and talking them into voting for her; while our guys are getting a lot of media and crowd attention.

#3. Do we dare root for her challenger to defeat her like we did in ‘08? I bet Rush regrets urging people to cross over and vote for Obama in the “Chaos” movement to deny Hillary the nomination. Hell, he almost makes her look like Margaret Thatcher.

I dunno; just some questions I have. Help me out here.

Dear Din Maker,

1. We'd find out, wouldn't we? If others run, it's because in spite of her being the prohibitive favorite, they perceive her as being vulnerable. My bet is that they're right - she is vulnerable. I don't think it would take a huge shove to push her off the cliff.

2. The counter to that is that the media would like to create a sense of inevitability to Sh!itlery, and to the degree that they succeed, that's bad. On the other hand, a primary fight pierces that sense of inevitability, and it then can become a real race. And I think our guys are better, and will win on merit.

3. Always a possibility. But last time, the Kenyan anti-Christ was able to set up McCain as the surrogate for President Bush, who was none too like. This time, the Dem will have the mirror problem of having to answer for the Kenyan. I think the economy will continue to limp along, and people will be ready for a change. And the Kenyan ain't it.

So, in summary, you never know how it will go. We could wind up with President O’Malley. Or worse. But I think it's more likely that if someone gives Sh!itlery a hard run for the money, we'll inaugurate President Walker or Cruz on Jan 20, 2017.

Just my guess.

I certainly hope not. Hell, with the voting constituency we have in this nation today, that would be worth 5 extra percentage points added his polling numbers.

I seem to remember people here rooting for HER against Obama and that “Chaos” thing being to help HER after he became more likely to win.

She is just as bad if not worse (smarter, more dangerous) than Obama.

In any case, O’Malley isn’t a threat to her. Watch for a Hispanic “Brown Obama”, that’s the only thing that I think could derail her nomination this time.

If I could gamble righteously, I’d bet you a steak dinner that will NEVER happen, Impy. It will be an extreme, left-wing, Saul Alinsky-type, white female (Clinton or Warren). The VP choice for the Ticket will be a male Hispanic. (Probably, Julian Castro.)

Obama beat Hillary by having appeal (to vapid fools but none the less). Warren makes Hillary look almost pretty, she’s not marketable. Dem money would make sure Hilary beat her, since they know she (Warren) would tough to elect in November since appeals to no one but the hard left.

Marxism doesn’t win nationally on it’s own, it needs to be wrapped up like a Christmas present.

Your points are well taken. Hopefully, it will NOT be a “Brown Obama” nominated by the DemocRATS. He would be almost unbeatable. Which makes a point for your original argument in the first place.

I know that FReepers hate Identity Politics, but, if the Dems nominated a Male Hispanic, the ONLY way we could win would be to nominate a Female Hispanic. I’m thinking Gov. Susana Martinez of NM.
