American flag stirring controversy at York County high school Coleen Harry May 13, 2015 10:47 PM YORK COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - In Peyton Robinson's eyes, the American flag should be displayed. But at his school, York Comprehensive High School, the senior ran into a problem because he was displaying the flag on his pick-up.

"Just proud to be an American," the 18-year-old told WBTV. Robinson said a school administrator told him remove the American flag and the POW-MIA flag, which he has in the back of his truck.

"He said we're having some issues. Some people were complaining about the flags in your truck, possibly offend them. He asked me to take it down," Robinson said.

Whether or not they agree with the display of an American flag or the method of display, school administrators have no authority to order a student to take it down. That “administrator” need to move back in the classroom (at half the pay) and start trying to be useful.

“Some offended” people can go pound sand. And any administrator with any sense would have told this offended person the same thing, in a more tactful way. The patriots and proud Americans need to continually stand against these loons!

Think it’s in SC. If so, here’s something from the school site:

“Our Mission:
Working with the community, we will provide a diverse, innovative education in a safe environment enabling students to become responsible citizens in a global society.”

In my grandpa’s America, I bet school mission statements (if they even had them, because everyone pretty much understood what a school should be doing), were a bit different.

There is no York County, NC. There is a York County, SC just below Charlotte/ Gastonia.

UPDATE: AMERICA WINS
-----------------
New story link here

YORK COUNTY, SC (WBTV) - A high school in York County has spoken out after students protested Thursday morning when a senior said he was asked to remove an American flag from his pick-up truck.

Thursday morning, several students, parents, and veterans protested the incident, many setting up across from school grounds waving flags.

"When I hear that you can't fly the American flag it makes my blood run red, and my blood is red," said Vietnam Veteran Michael Douglas

Just before noon Thursday, officials at York Comprehensive High School said Peyton Robinson and other students could keep the U.S. flag on his vehicle as long as no driving hazard exists.

Parents who were part of the demonstration called the decision a win.

---------------------
It's not my problem if you're offended. This is my country. I'll proudly wave my flag. Get over it or leave.

The first sentence says York County, NC. I just assumed NC stood for North Carolina.

Yeah, the article got it wrong.

I live in Georgia now but I was born and raised in NC.

In eighth grade we had a test on the counties and county seats. All 100 of them. We were given a map of the counties with a number for each one. The test form was numbered 1-100 with two blanks for each. Passing was 80% and spelling counted.

The government will have to reduce payments to the elderly, he said at the event.

The school administrator's name should be published as a warning to other un-American busybodies that their BS will not be tolerated.

Bring them out in the sunlight see if they can stand the heat.

Funny how it took a few hours for the school to find a 'plausible' reason to disallow the flag in the back of the pickup truck. Originally, it was because of complaints, then it was safety. The State PoPo then redeclaring the flag legal, knocked the pins out from under the Principal teacher's indoctrinator's argument. I'm sure many of the teachers 'peoples' reeducators' were very upset at the Principal's backing down to common sense and the law.

I’m surprised that this happened at York Comp. I know the school quite well. It probably was a safety issue to them and not an “I’m offended” issue.
