Kinda biased by the Washington Times, but yes, we are conspiring to promote Constitutional conservatism. What a scoop. Pfft.

In 2012, the Establishment controlled the convention and gave conservatives absolutely nothing.
We thought they would at least throw us a bone when it was announced that a "mystery guest" would address the convention. Many conservatives eagerly anticipated that it would be someone like Sarah Palin. Instead, it was some washed-up has-been movie actor.

Yeah, and Jeb Bush doesn’t have any secret meetings. He just wants to go to Washington to establish a boys’ camp or sumtin’.

Just to help out the folks who didn't read the article. There's a meeting of the GOP bigwigs happening in scottdale, AZ. They generally select who they are going to get behind, and it *is* Karl Rove and Phylis Shfly etc.. And this process "whittles down" the number of people running before we've had a single debate for the primary. I mean, did anyone else think McCain or Romney came out of those primary debates looking golden? The fact was that they'd already been chosen as the nominee by the establishment. And then they can go around handing out favors, like, "Get your supporters behind me, and I'll make you VP."
Okay. Simultaneously, the little guys are brainstorming strategies to prevent the GOP from choosing that losing nominee for us, before we even get to the primary. And one "intriguing" idea is to let all the runners stay in until the primary. WHOA. that's an idea that blows *everyone's* mind.
So that's what this article is about.

Not exactly “plotting”.
They threw out a bad old idea and are considering a new bad idea.
Just thin the herd and back the most conservative.
