Obama fails first test on trade - unable to persuade for fast-track trade authority.

The president is unable to persuade pro-trade Democrats to go ahead with a bill on fast-track trade authority.

Tuesday was the first test vote on trade, and President Barack Obama failed.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) declared the 52-45 vote “shocking,” labor and progressive groups declared victory, and the White House was left insisting that things really aren’t over yet for fast track authority and the broader Trans-Pacific Partnership trade treaty that the administration is hoping would follow.

“What you’ll see here in a few minutes is a failure of the president’s ability to convince members of his own party to support a piece of legislation that he himself supports,” said Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn (R-Texas) said shortly ahead of the cloture vote.

AFL-CIO president Richard Trumka called it “a big win.”

It’s McConnell’s fault the Democrats filibustered Obama.

I’m with that labor thug Richard Trumka. I am hoping this BS trade deal goes down in flames.

And definitely no-fast track authority for the President. Every president not just Obungu

Unable to persuade Democrats.
He had plenty of Democrats in R jerseys willing to help him finish off the country with this secret deal.

Trans-Pacific Partnership is a gun-grab in disguise. I’m happy its larval stage (the authority fast-track) went down in flames.

I know he is on a recent video voicing his support for the ‘Fast Track Authority’ on the TPP that Barry so desperately wants. (Why he is with Obama on ANYTHING I can’t say). I don’t know about how he went on today’s vote though.

“Hmm. Looks like McConnell supports Obama even more than his democrat flunkies. “

That’s because Ole Scrotum Neck has his nose so far up the Chamber of Communists bunghole we should worry he’s going to suffocate. Big Business and Big Labor are two peas in a pod.

The GOPe is coming out of the closet with its love and admiration for Obama, and the democrats begin to oppose him, just as the country is finally finding out what an absolute POS maoist he is.

Nice going republicans. As usual.

Yes, Ted Cruz voted for it.

I’m disappointed but not surprised. I don’t trust any of them.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) declared the 52-45 vote “shocking,”

The GOPe has veered so far left that they are willing and eager to support Obama in a way that liberal Democrats are not willing to do.

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. It was bound to happen.

I’m a big ignorant... why does Obama want this so bad?

Because it will hurt America.

Because it will eliminate more of the middle class.
