Likely GOP presidential contender Jeb Bush says he will try to convince grassroots groups of parents who oppose the Common Core standards to flip-flop and embrace the education initiative.
When Megyn Kelly of Fox News Channel’s The Kelly File observed how unpopular the Common Core initiative is with grassroots conservatives in particular, Bush responded: “Common Core means a lot of things to different people, so they could be right, based on what’s in front of them…but the simple fact is we need higher standards; they need to be state-driven.
The federal government should play no role in this – either in the creation of standards, content, or curriculum…”

I just called the Medved show. Told the screener I was a Scott Walker supporter, but I would vote for any of the other candidates EXCEPT Bush. He thanked me and said they were looking for callers with the opposite view and hung up. LOL

Well!...Duh!....Of course only 1/3 will be college ready. It takes and IQ of 115 or better to be successful in college and 120 or more for the math based programs. ( Read Charles Murray.)
And....When government now forces **all** children ( even those with less than an IQ of 115 into a college prep high school program, why are we surprised that those with less than a 115 IQ are NOT prepared for a job?

None of these standards will do a blinking thing for the lousy urban schools, like Baltimore.
No matter how much money we pour into them, if kids do not have solid parents who support their kids, the teachers, and insist in personal responsibility, the kids are going to fail, no matter how high the standards!
Jeb doesn’t wan’t to discuss these basic issues.
Jeb has this all wrong.....the grass roots is seeking out a candidate that actually represents them and their viewpoints....we will not conform to his viewpoints. Has the world gone crazy?

Sadly, I can foresee a time when Karl and Jeb have played every dirty trick they can and have used the rigged primary system to secure the nomination for ole Jeb. I can also foresee Karl sitting on FOX come election night with that same dumbfounded look on his face as the last election. He will wear the look of a man that somehow will fail to understand how millions of his party’s voters stayed home, how his “flipping us” on this issue or that issue really just enraged us. The cherry on top of the cake, he will blame conservatives and, instead of winning them over, will continue his LOSER tactic of warring on them.
I am sick of Jeb, I am sick of Karl, I am sick of the GOPe. I will not flip just because come election time I am told that the Shiite sandwich they are serving is the only meal in town. FUJB.
