"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldn’t make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan

"A thing moderately good is not so good as it ought to be. Moderation in temper is always a virtue; but moderation in principle is always a vice." - Thomas Paine 1792

"It does not take a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." - Samuel Adams

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

Dr. Carson’s life story is inspiring. He’s a good role model for many young men.

If only he weren’t running for office... Politics is a whole different game. I was hoping he wouldn’t throw his hat in the ring because it’s going to be heartbreaking watching both parties go after him now.

I thought it was just chronic, but clearly Arson’s foot-in-mouth disease is terminal. My condolences.

Ben,

1) Guns - You struck out.

2) Minimum Wage - What are you doing back at the plate? You already struck out!

Get out of here. You showed your true colors.

Sen. Rick Santorum (Pa.), who is weighing a bid, would be the only other Republican candidate open to raising the minimum wage. His advisers told The Hill in February that his stance could help him earn support from working families.

I thought that Mike Huckabee also favors raising the minimum wage.

I like the Guy and I think he means well, but for every sensible Comment he makes three idiotic Comments.

He should be the Surgeon General in the Cruz Administration.
I still miss Jocelyn Elders and her Pearls of Wisdom. LOL

Economist Thomas Sowell needs to have a lo-o-o-ong talk with Dr. Carson.

Carson is a good surgeon, but he’s obviously no economist.

He lost my vote, but at least Mr. Carson gives honest non-poll tested answers.

And once again, Walker states the truth, there's no reason for the federal government to be in the middle of an employment negotiation.

But hey, why stop at $12 minimum? Why not make the minimum wage the same as a congressional representative? Put it to a vote; every American must be paid no less than what their congressional representative receives. And shoot, make it have the same benefits too. Flop that on the table and make the liberals eat their words by voting it down.

And when liberals launch attack ads about how Republicans don't want to lift people up, point to the great bill sent that would reward every hard working American with salary and benefits fit for a congressional representative. Blast back that liberals voted it down, once more cementing their hold on the 1% where they constantly go to for fundraising events on the taxpayer dime.

I agree with him, let’s raise the minimum wage. But before doing so let’s first take 95% of the money being spent on able bodied people in the form of welfare and distribute it to any company that will hire people for $15.00 per hour. Just divvy the dollars up.

That’s right, no more trillions of dollars for welfare, food stamps, AFDC, etc. Unless you are paralyzed or mentally challenged. If you are paralyzed we take care of you, if you are mentally challenged we find you the job that matches your skill set, you become a member of Congress.

So, instead of having welfare the money all goes to companies that will pay $15.00 per hour. Hmm, but that still means that taxes have to be paid to fund this, right? OK, let’s then do away with taxing corporations. Cool, now besides of getting rid of everyone working for the government paying out all this money we do away with the IRS too.

Bad idea, Ben.

Raising teh minimum wage will cost jobs. Even CBO says so.

However, IF we’re going to do it, lets’ package it with cuts in the business tax, the capital gains tax, and the payroll tax, and see how popular it is then.

At least that would mitigate some of the damage.

IMHO the government should not tell any business what to pay any employee.
