If a bayonet is an arm, which I assert it is, does it cease to be an arm when it is wielded in the hand instead of being attached to the barrel of a rifle?
The second amendment is silent about what constitutes and arm just as the first amendment is silent about the medium used to communicate speech.

Knives do not fall under the 2nd amendment, correct? Knives, swords, axes, spears, clubs, are all arms under the definition of weaponry that includes firearms. The 2nd Amendment does not specify just Firearms.
