Why men won't marry you
Fox News ^ | May 1, 2015 | Suzanne Venker

That’s a question Peter Lloyd tackles in a series in London’s Daily Mail about Britain’s marriage rate, which is at its lowest level since 1895. “The state of matrimony is not just ailing. It is dying out faster than a mobile phone battery,” Lloyd writes. “For an army of women, Mr. Right is simply not there, no matter how hard they look for him.”

The article’s author, and too many of the respondents on this thread, seem unaware that there are still a lot of honest, sweet, virtuous women, and they’re having trouble finding husbands, too. The skanks and feminists have ruined it for almost everyone. I don’t blame men for being bitter and suspicious, and at the same time I don’t blame women for being frustrated.

But despite the worrying statistics, there are still many happy marriages being formed. In my own circle I see young people getting married, having kids, and staying happily married. It’s not entirely hopeless.

Back in 1965, the Hippie Movement declared marriage DEAD! If you loved someone that was all that was needed, after all, a marriage license was only a piece of paper.

Today, marriage is the most important thing two people can engage in, but ONLY if you are GAY!

No fault divorce means she can go out and sleep around on you, abandon the children for months/years on end as she does it, and the courts will still give her custody unless you can spend big bucks to buck the system.

That happened to my son in law from a previous relationship.

I don't think young girls know the first thing about cooking or cleaning, nor do they want to know. Many of them think it's beneath them. I've been married 18 years; I developed an interest in cooking when I was in junior high. I used to work outside the home, but not anymore. Now my job is the house, while my husband's is outside the house.

As far as cooking family meals......... A woman had to be like an army general to organize food supply and cooking fuels back in the age when there was no refrigeration and no electrical or gas stoves. When was the last time you cooked on a wood stove? :) The whole female side of the family (daughters grandmothers etc) was involved in cooking, laundering, cleaning, vegetable gardening (maybe), birthing, child raising, sewing, darning........ The real domestic side of the woman was there by economic necessity.

The simple division of labor  being the man slaving away outside the house and the woman (wife) slaving away inside the house which was her rightfully earned her domain. We still kinda have this division of labor but it was better done in times past. The stooopid primitive Mooozlims have this part right.

>>>seem unaware that there are still a lot of honest, sweet, virtuous women, and they’re having trouble finding husbands, too.<<<

I hear that a lot, from women. When I re-entered the dating world a few years ago as a middle aged man, I just didn’t see that many of these women. Let me share what I did see.

1) Women with kids.
2) Women who seemed to promote her job and education as her good points.
3) Women who told me they were into sports.
4) Women who took pictures drinking booze.
5) Women who showed sexy pictures.
6) Women who had a demanding list of requirements despite her rapidly declining fertility (late 30s, early 40s).

And last but not least:

7) Unattractive women.

Now first things first. Men are visual. Guys mostly look at the outside before they decide they want to learn about her inside. Most women didn’t pass that test to me. Second, my give a care meter about a woman’s education or job just isn’t that high. Is she pretty and will she be nice to me is what is high on my list of importance. And why the heck should I put up with kids from another man. Single moms were never a consideration for me.

I get it, when you are older like me, you are left with the crumbs, as are the women’s choices. But you make off like there are so many “great” women that are being over looked. If they are so great to actual men (not other women) they wouldn’t be single. Just my two cents.

I have a 24-year-old son, who comments, “Really? Produce one.”

If there are such women, they must be champion hide-and-don’t-go-seek players.

I read a book (can’t recall its title) about the life of the typical farm wife back then. When you say she had to be like an army general, you aren’t exaggerating. Every day, making fresh bread was a part of her routine, and she would get up in the wee hours to do it so it could rise. Nowadays, bread-making is a rare venture (I’ve done it once, for the novelty of it).

Laundry day was usually Monday, and it was a dawn-to-nightfall exhausting chore, with breaks in between to make those meals. I think about those women every time I drop clothes into my washer and dryer, take them out and fold them up.

I’ve never cooked on a wood stove, and I can’t say it’s something I want to do. :)

My working just didn’t suit us. A job combined with all my other responsibilities made me tired and crabby, and most nights we just ended up ordering takeout. It wasn’t a good situation. Some nights I would be vacuuming at 11 p.m....my husband wanted to help but I wouldn’t let him.

Then my job wanted me to work even more hours. Husband had already told me to give my notice. They said, “You really don’t have a choice.” I replied, “Actually, I do. Good-bye.”

Things improved greatly after that.

The if you win the kids hate you anyway.”

I have seen this happen to several of my friends over time. Ugly.

Yep forget that. The women know they can take everything the guy has and they usually do once they are bored with the guy. Guys have zero incentive to get married.

I live in Maryland not far from DC and rooshv wrote an editorial explaining why DC sucks for single men looking for single women, and most of his points rang true.

Furthermore, its the first time I saw them made on the internet.

My 2nd wife is Filipina. In that country you can’t help but notice how different the women are over there. Here are just some of the big things I noticed.

1) They are more pretty as a group of women than Americans. Longer hair and less fat especially.
2) They are modest. You can find good time girls there. But you can also find women who are both drop dead gorgeous and who don’t act like bimbos.
3) They are more chaste. If you want a virgin bride, it’s not far fetched to say you can get one over there. And she doesn’t have to be young. Even at age 30+, still virgins in large numbers.
4) They are respectful to men.
5) They (both sexes here) appear happier than Americans. This despite crushing poverty.

Their culture isn’t perfect and I wouldn’t say it’s superior to ours. But if you want a wife, you can definitely find a nice one there. The downside is knowing she is marrying you for love and not a better life. I’m sure the money aspect can never be eliminated. So you are going to be liked more simply for being a foreigner. Knowing that she also loves you for you, is the risk going over there.

” My husband and I were together for 2 1/2 years before we married. We knew without a doubt we were the other’s soul mate, and we also knew that divorce would never be an option.”

GREAT advice. I a year or two, you should know that person quite well. Wish I had done the same : )
