What we have today is “live-ins”. Thus the man protects his wallet.....the woman, if they have children, have a temporary sense of security. I say temporary because very ,very, few woman will accept just living together indefinitely. They all eventually want more. There are traditional American woman but you won't find them very often admitting so publicly.

By the way, I also do IT work for several Dallas area divorce attorneys. They *all* agree that the way the system is now the man gets utterly screwed in a divorce.

No, that’s not true. I love my boy. I’m not talking about whether or not I want more, I’d hate to lose him. I’m just saying I don’t wanna pay her way until I’m dead because I married a sweetheart who acts the part, but a couple years in decides to divorce out of nowhere seemingly for no reason with the added possibility of losing Sean.

I think a woman who’s been used by many men like that is disgusting and repulsive. But I think I’m in the minority. Otherwise, how do women get so many sex partners? I’m curious what you guys think about number of past sex partners. Does it matter for the man? For the woman?

Oh B.S. I do appraisals for divorces; that's total crap. The real issue is that men spend the collective family money on expensive things that maintain value (no problem with that...it assets)...and then lay claim to those items.
You just wanted to keep all the cars, guns, tools, boats, etc. I'm sure if you had fought for the $50 sofa, $500 worth of used clothes or the $5 Tupperware, you could have had half.

Uh, Texas is a community property state. Pre-marital assets are excluded from the divorce settlements. Been there, done that.

If any alimony, it is for a limited duration. For a marriage of couple of years it would not be too severe.
Child support ends when the kid reaches the age of majority.
If you stayed married you would probably be supporting your kid in your house till he was 26.
