A Florida Couple is Busted for ‘Sex on the Beach.’ The Judge’s Sentence Could Be a Mind-Blowing One.

A couple in Florida attracted quite a bit of attention last summer, when a video of them having the often-cliched “sex on the beach” made its way to YouTube for all to see.

A description of the explicit video was provided by WFLA:

The couple didn’t hold back.

Bold and brazen with their bodies, they were grinding in full view. Bradenton Beach Police were called, and the couple was eventually arrested.

The indecent encounter was captured by a sunbathing great-grandmother on her iPhone. There are claims even a three-year-old saw the couple.

On Monday, the couple appeared before a judge. TIME reports:

Jose Caballero, 40, and Elissa Alvarez, 20, were convicted of two counts each of lewd and lascivious behavior for having sex on Bradenton Beach in 2014. The jury took only 15 minutes to reach a verdict.

As part of their sentence, the pair faces up to 15 years in prison each. Attorney for the couple Ronald Kurpiers told TIME:

“’It’s a horrifically harsh potential penalty for what they’re alleged to have done and that’s really the rub here,’ he said.”

The following is courtroom footage of the family members talking about the illicit act:

Arresting officer Eric Hill from Bradenton Beach commented:

“This isn’t an after-hours disco that people can use for a garbage can. This is the root of family.”

Resident Ray Schmitz agrees:

“It’s ridiculous, it shouldn’t happen, there’s a time and place for everything, not for on the beach. I’m proud of our law enforcement for stopping this!”

While a date for sentencing has yet to be determined, the couple must also become registered sex offenders.

Let me see if I understand this correctly.

The Clintons, Pelosis, Harry Reid and John Roberts, the IRS chiefs, the EPA and most of the State Department as well as the current Administration commit crimes and treasons against the American people and get away with it and these two shmucks are lewd on the beach and get 15 year felony sentences??

They were obviously obnoxious and stupid to do it in broad daylight with people and children around, but 15 years seems ridiculous. Apparently Anna Maria is now rampant with swinging retired people too. Have to be careful when you get a dinner invite to friends or neighbors, you could be naked, ball gagged and hanging from a sex machine before you know how it happened.

I hear ya and really don’t disagree ... if that is indeed what happened. I would certainly be tougher if I thought that was the intent.

Like trying anything with the facts from the Press, you really never get the full facts. I didn’t see that as the facts but I sure as poop could be wrong.

If indeed it was like flashing (I didn’t take it that way) then I change my mind and it is worse.

I believe the higher authority you refer to said “let he who is without sin cast the first stone”.

Boy, you just took that verse way way out of context. I expected far better from FR posters.

I don't have time for this, but here it goes.

Jesus knew he was being watched by those that wanted to report him and get him arrested. Jesus knew his time was not yet arrived for such.

Jesus knew the punishment for her crime was death and he was being challenged (he could not just walk away not saying anything, he was pressured over and over to give an answer). Christ also understood that the penalty for a Jew to prescribe the rightful penalty of death was also to receive a death penalty from the Romans who forbade Jews from giving the death penalty. So Jesus cleverly said the section you quoted. He did not change the law, he did not even give her a pass on her sin, he made it clear what she did was not ok and said go and sin no more. It was sin and as Jesus he had the power to forgive that sin. But in no way did Jesus even condemn the people for wanting justice.

Meanwhile we have public parks that the police no longer patrol because they are afraid of being accused of going after gay men screwing behind every bush. Every once in a while we are treated to a “nothing we can do about it” story from the local police in the news when a tourist or new resident walks into the park in the evening...

exposing kids to sex is abuse? then there are a few teachers exposing kids to such things, along with detailed instructions, that should face charges.

hmph... they use to get govt funding to do such things (and may still do).

Where off Collins?

Two of my five kids were born at Mercy in the Grove and we go annually for spring break to take the boys to Miami Beach

Usually the W or Delano

Just back back less than a month ago

Stayed at the new Como Metropolitan

Which I highly recommend

We see topless all the time

My wife would go topless at a topless beach without our kids in tow

But I have never in 27 years of going to Miami main beaches from Key Biscayne to Haulover seen folks openly copulating in front of folks. Ever

The problem at south beach today is the blacks have taken over the ocean drive area and ruined it

It’s just an outpost of Liberty City and Opalocka now

That and the traffic from Alton rd to Collins is gridlock except between 12 midnight and 7am

Jail time is absurd

You’re in a small club here which is where I often find myself
If you must I could see maybe 10 days served

No way this stands up and this prosecutor should be Nifonged

Everything right now is speculation. It “could” be a 15 year sentence. It “could” be something else. I’m not going to comment much until the judge hands down the sentence. I think they should be fined, get probation, and be on their way. They picked a bad spot to get laid. That happens.

See post #33:

Ronald Kurpiers, defense attorney for the couple, said his clients were “devastated,” by the verdict. Though Dafonseca hinted that they’d be speaking with the judge about whether or not 15 years was appropriate for Caballero, Kurpiers said the judge would have no discretion.

“That’s what he’ll get,” Kurpiers said.’

Jose is not guilty. More men should look like that on the beach.

As a citizen, I am happy with the idea that society’S remedy for people who are unwilling or unable to abide by its standards of behavior is to remove them from it. I also like the idea that their dissolute lives are given value by serving as warnings to others.

No, he showed them as hypocrites, because they were all willing to stone this woman, yet they were all guilty of sin themselves. The woman just happened to be the one who got caught. At least one poster on this thread confessed that long ago he did exactly what this couple did. He just happened to not get caught.

I did not take the verse out of context.

No, I’m criticizing the ridiculously draconian punishment.

Are you happy with giving them a harsher sentence than many murders get?

I’ve got a snow bird location off of 71st & Collins in an older high rise I bought during the crash. We go there when we can and rent it out during the Winter/Spring months.

I’m not from Miami originally, but the wife is. She went to Coral Gables—blonde Cuban.

Over the past few years, I’ve noticed the character of this area change for the worse (not that it’s ever been great).

It’s literally a nightly occurance for skinny-dippers to dive in right in front of our building—we avoid the beach like the plague at night. Last year there were several idiot couples arrested for indecent exposure on the beach around the area. Queers love to flaunt their love in front of what used to be a semi-family friendly beach all the damn time. The closer you get to S Beach, the worse it gets. A few years back, several porn films were made in bright daylight on the beach further down from us and arrests were made. I never followed up on what happened. It gets old and I’m sick of it to be frank.

Blacks and Hialeah thugs make S Beach a damn 3rd world paradise.

I’ve got kids under 5, I don’t want or need them seeing this stuff yet.

We clearly see who defends this behavior here and who doesn’t. Like an earlier poster said, “lots of liberals here.”

You’re one of them I guess.
