When armed terrorists attacked Charlie Hebdo headquarters over Muhammad cartoons on January 7, unarmed police officers were forced to flee for their lives. When armed men attacked people gathered in Garland, Texas, on May 3 over Prophet Muhammad cartoons, armed police cut them down — and the Daily Mail reported that the body of one was left lying the street while police searched for explosives.

To be fair, the Paris gang were better prepared, having scouted, etc. They were ready to deal with the pair of armed French police at the Hebdo offices.
The Texas pair seem to have shown up with no plan to deal with armed police who were likewise stationed at the venue.

From all indications, they did show up with a plan to deal with armed police. Their plan was to shoot their way in.

Didn’t say it was a *good* plan. And it would have worked if all they’d faced was some unarmed security guards and a couple of cops. Unfortunately for them they ran into several fire teams worth of cops and private contractor ‘security.’

Are we finally going to start playing “Cowboys and Muslims”? And will it start in Texas?

Now we learn that it took three shots to bring them both down. Second perp was wounded and then killed when he went into a backpack after the first shot.

Slightly different that the NYC cops routine we saw a few months back.

To be fair to the NYC cops, the rules on officer and citizen use of deadly force are far better defined and make a lot more sense here. Plus orders of magnitude less political stupidity affecting all concerned.

On the other hand, the 'elite' of the NYPD are still dumb enough to put their optical sight systems on their rifles backwards and then *not* wonder why they don't work.

Backwards Eotech optic:

Great pics. Talk about stupidity on display. Clearly these LEO’s need to train on their weapons more.

[crack] drop
[crack] drop, reach [crack], drop

Ammo’s expensive today.
Kudos for these guys’ conservation of a precious commodity.

And then we have the guy in Boston using his rifle scope as a spotting scope...
