Obama admin tells immigration judge: Amnesty Has Already Begun
washingtontimes ^ | May 3 2015 | Stephen Dinan

The Justice Department checked with the White House before informing a federal judge that it was already carrying out part of President Obama’s immigration amnesty, administration attorneys revealed in documents filed in court late last week as they tried to head off a judicial spanking.

The attorneys turned over the communications with the White House to Judge Andrew S. Hanen, who is hearing the major case challenging Mr. Obama’s 2014 deportation amnesty, but the lawyers pleaded with the court not to look at the documents on grounds that it would intrude on the president’s powers.

Still, the revelation that the White House was looped in suggests officials knew the seriousness of the error in not informing Judge Hanen earlier that the Homeland Security Department was already carrying out part of Mr. Obama’s amnesty by granting three-year work permits to illegal immigrants who qualified under the 2012 policy.

Snip

Texas has asked for limited discovery in the case to try to figure out how seriously it should treat the government’s behavior. Judge Hanen now has those documents and will have to decide what to make public.

Snip

Judge Hanen is considering whether to issue sanctions against the Obama administration — though he has said he won’t strike the government’s pleadings, which essentially would have erased the administration’s defense and granted victory by default to Texas. Judge Hanen said that while that may have been warranted, it would be a disservice to the weighty issues at stake in the case, including fundamental issues of presidential power.

Well he’s been flipping the bird to the Legislative branch for six and a half years. Had to figure he’d get around to the Judicial sooner or later.

Judge Hanen said that while that may have been warranted, it would be a disservice to the weighty issues at stake in the case, including fundamental issues of presidential power.

Executive power? Less than two years ago, self-proclaimed Constitutional Law professor Barack the First said:

“My job in the executive branch is supposed to be to carry out the laws that are passed. Congress has said ‘here is the law’ when it comes to those who are undocumented, and they’ve allocated a whole bunch of money for enforcement. And, what I have been able to do is to make a legal argument that I think is absolutely right, which is that given the resources that we have, we can’t do everything that Congress has asked us to do. What we can do is then carve out the DREAM Act folks, saying young people who have basically grown up here are Americans that we should welcome. … But if we start broadening that, then essentially I would be ignoring the law in a way that I think would be very difficult to defend legally. So that’s not an option. … What I’ve said is there is a there’s a path to get this done, and that’s through Congress.”

Barack the First has rarely told the truth, but I hope the judge will listen to that quote and take our Dear Leader at his word. Telling the truth is a dangerous mistake for a wannabe petty tyrant.

> Total system breakdown. It’s “anything goes”.

That door swings both ways. While the left keeps attacking continously, the right will do it in one fell swoop and leave them reeling for years.

Whew, I am sure glad this Judge shut Bammy down otherwise he would be issuing Green Card willy nilly. All this creepers her that believed this judge stopped the administrations come here and apologize to those of us that knew his stay meant nothing to these lawless thugs. Not unlike Trey Gowdy accepting Hillary's word and Roberts' super secret plan to demolish ACA.

What could Bill Clinton possibly convey in a speech that is worth $500,000.00?

In my opinion, Obama’s memo actions to the applicable underling Executive Agencies involved here ONLY relieves HIM of the legal implications of issuing an Executive Order that has real-world legal and legislative baggage that pertains to HIM. What he’s done is order the underling agencies to follow his orders, but he has not absolved them of their primary responsibility to follow and enforce the law.

I hope this judge puts these underlings in some real serious hurt. Obama’s only action would then be to issue pardons, IMO. Congress (HoR) if it had any backbone would strip their budget authorities immediately and refuse to process any new ones until this is stopped.

Thinking only of himself and the pandering mileage he can get out of it. He’ll throw anybody under the bus at this point to protect his “First Black President” legacy and popularity with the useless in this country.
