Ah, I spoke a “hate fact”. The human hearts of all groups contain varying conditions, but some groups, to one degree or another, cannot sustain a first world society even when they receive it ready-made from another group. One such group is blacks, and it doesn’t matter whether it’s nation, city, or community-Haiti, Detroit, and South Africa are three examples.
If we could find some way to separate the BU from the rest of America, the upper half of black Americans could compete with other Americans and do a lot better. And the country would be immeasurably better off. Think of one trillion dollars of tax-payer money not being thrown down a rat hole annually.
If people dont know by now they will never know. The sad truth is that by the time the elections roll around next year Ted Cruz will be getting the blame.
It's the Liberal Way. Nobody is ever asked to be responsible for their own actions.
Excuses are made for rioters and looters. We must understand their rage. Criminals are never guilty. Society made them do it. The poor are never "shiftless", they are "disadvantaged".
The same goes for foreign relations. Our enemies are not at fault. Instead, it is we who have given them reason for animus.
This is the way liberals deal with public policy. The aggrieved is always right.
Note also that they conduct their personal lives in the same manner. Their children are never punished, no matter how insufferable they might be.
If nothing else, the liberal mind is consistent. And consistently wrong...
When conservatives blame Dems for poor near cities, they always come back with snark and ask, “What is your solution.” Don’t fall into the trap of trying to answer. Distill it down to a simple matter.
I always ask, which individual do you know who is being held down? What are this individuals goals? And, who is keeping him/ her from reaching them? At this level of conversation, the answers are obvious. Any one poor person in any big city does not lack for anything except goals and only he/ she can find those. No one in this world is preventing that person from obtaining his/ her goals either.
No. The real problem is people don’t believe in themselves and furthermore have been taught not to believe in themselves by the Democrats. The solution is to stop pandering to anti social behavior. To stop making excuses for unmotivated people. To encouraging people to find goals instead of finding excuses.
when I was starting out, I looked for goals and found them. But, I know damn well if I looked for excuses I would have them just as easily. My mom taught me to never look for something that will make you miserable, because you will find it.
The other former Brit colonies, like Zimbabwe, kenya, etc. are further examples.
Your Mom was smart and a good mother.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. would likely agree with all of that.
The quote has been in FR several times with sources but none lately that I could find. Has anyone stats that show St. Louis is alone in this? That no other city with numbers like those?
Would the Huffington Post allow this if there was some way to refute it?
President Obama's Elevator (Update)
Here's what Dr. King had to say about crime within the black community in 1961, and the general situation is still true today:
Do you know that Negroes are 10 percent of the population of St. Louis and are responsible for 58 percent of its crimes? We've got to face that. And we've got to do something about our moral standards. We know that there are many things wrong in the white world, but there are many things wrong in the black world, too. We can't keep on blaming the white man. There are things we must do for ourselves.I didn't find the quote on my own. Jason L. Riley at the Wall Street Journal found it for his excellent July 15 article: "Race, Politics and the Zimmerman Trial." After he published, he was accused of making it up.
Riley wrote a follow-up on July 18 citing the quote's source: "A James Baldwin profile of King that appeared in a 1961 issue of Harper's Magazine. I was a little taken aback by the accusation, and not just because the Harper's piece can be located and read without too much effort via Google."
Riley's accusers "apparently just couldn't believe that the nation's most prominent civil rights leaders used to speak this way about problems in the black community and the role of personal responsibility."
The Democrats seem intent on turning Baltimore into Zimbabwe. In Zim, the blacks attack even black farms that are “doing too well”. All with the approval of Mugabe.
A classic sign of sociopathic behavior is the focus on blame. As long as a sociopath can point fingers and blame others, he diverts the focus away from his failings and uses it to attack others and put them on the defense. The best defense is a good offense and sociopaths use blaming tactics for this.
This isn’t a culture. It’s the disintegration of a culture.
There is absolutely something in what you say; not being a psychologist. Every negative anything is shunted away, (mis)directed somewhere else. It’s literally reflexive in essentially every action we see, and it auto-generates a story about how the fault lies way over there.
We hear: “Mistakes were made” “We have conducted a thorough review to make sure this does not happen again”. Every damn activity out of this government seems to produce this “hey look over there” kind of signal. And it’s so automatic. There is always a ready-made diversion, there is always a scapegoat. It seems like it has become a built-in function of government communication to establish a synthetic cause.
Have to ponder more.
Thanks for the reply. Yes, please do ponder more. If you find this to be worthwhile, please share and discuss with others so that the concept spreads. When we more people become aware of how they are “playing” us, it becomes more difficult for them to do so. When we are unaware, we don’t think about it consciously and it’s easy for us to fall victim to their tactics.
