I think the push is on against the NFL and football, because it is the last great meritocracy in America. (not necessarily front offices and coaches, but the players on the field).There are certain people that just can't handle that.

It doesn't matter if you are a man or woman, it doesn't matter your race, or your sexual preference, and even criminal conduct. If you are the best, in the end, you will get on the field in the regular season.

We recently had our Michael Sam deal, but he didn't make the cut despite his extra attention. The guys on the field are the best at what they do. And that is one of the key reasons why the NFL is so popular. The guys on the field aren't diversity hires. People like watching the best.

This is the plain truth.

However, the sport has gone over the line of human body tolerance. NO ONE is made to take the sort of punishment which the best are capable of dishing out in this time.

Good points, but sports in general is a meritocracy ... so I don’t know why the NFL would be treated any differently.
