The boundaries of Montbello, as I knew them, were Peoria on the west, 56th Ave. on the north, Chambers Rd. on the east and I-70 on the west.

Google map of Denver

MLK Blvd. runs west from Stapleton through black neighborhoods that are much older than Montbello which was built on property annexed by Denver for tract homes specifically built for blacks. It was an intentionally built ghetto for all practical purposes.

As I said, you are technically correct. Us suburbanites consider everything north of Mississippi and east of Quebec the ghetto. South of Mississippi is becoming a Muslim area. There is a huge mosque on Parker road. MLK blvd runs through a mostly black neighborhood. The area provided a lot of Lexus owners who paid their bills, and we got along splendidly.
