Al Sharpton Meets with Baltimore Mayor, Planning March from Charm City to D.C.

Rev. Al Sharpton said he couldn’t resist the urge to get involved in the Freddie Gray case before meeting yesterday with Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake.

“I have been asked by many in the Baltimore area since day one to get involved in the justice for Freddie Gray movement. Though I have discussed it on my daily radio and TV shows and been in touch with our NAN Baltimore chapter, I resisted personal involvement until we saw what the promised May 1 investigation report would bring,” Sharpton said Monday in a statement through his National Action Network.

Baltimore police said Wednesday that the Friday report is not a public document but the internal investigation into the in-custody death of the 25 year old that will be turned over to state investigators. The state attorneys will then review and decide if any charges will be filed against officers.

Sharpton said he was “saddened and disappointed” that the public wouldn’t see the report Friday.

“It is concerning to me that a deadline that the police themselves had set and announced they have now conveniently changed,” he said. Therefore, he decided to come to Baltimore to meet with local leaders and “to schedule a two-day march in May from Baltimore to Washington.”

“The march will bring the case of Freddie Gray, Eric Garner, Walter Scott, Eric Harris to the new Attorney General, Loretta Lynch. Ms. Lynch, in her new role that we all supported, must look and intervene in these cases. Justice delayed is justice denied.”

After speaking with Rawlings-Blake yesterday, Sharpton had the mayor on his MSNBC show.

“You know, we want to do more than just seek justice for Freddie Gray. We want to have justice, and in order to do that, we have to respect the process and we have to work very hard to make sure that this investigation is protected,” Rawlings-Blake said of the report release timeline. “…I certainly don’t want to give people the impression that the — that our state’s attorney will have made a decision by Friday.”

The mayor also defended her handling of the case and protests.

“I’m a criminal defense attorney — you know, by profession, before I was mayor. That’s what I did. I understand the issues of police brutality. I understand the issue of police misconduct, and we are making steady progress. Is this a tremendous setback, what is happening with our city? Absolutely it is. But it’s not going to stop me from confronting these issues and making sure that we get it right for our communities,” she said.

“I’m determined not to turn this into a political issue. We have to get this right, bring peace and order and healing in our city. I’m not going to play politics with it.”

One question -- Why is he called Rev. Al Sharpton? What seminary did he graduate from and who ordained him?

Sharpton, the great agitator, second only to Obama, arrived in Baltimore.

Democratic control of Baltimore is the main cause of the riots and racial division in spite that all the power is in the hand of Black democrats for several generations.

Baltimore needs as mayor, Toya Graham,,the mother that took his son from the mob.

Facts are irrelevant for Anarchists, Communists, professionals agitators and "community organizers" followers of Marxist Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals" strategy.

According to the FBI in 2011, 193 blacks were killed by whites, 448 White killed by Blacks while 2,447 blacks were killed by blacks. That is 2.3 times more whites killed by blacks than the other way around despite the fact that there’s six times as many whites in this country.

Do Black lives really matter? How many of the parents of Blacks murdered by Blacks received a call of Obama or send his personal representative to the funeral?

Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke: Obama ‘Quietly Enjoying’ Unrest in Baltimore

Not holding back one bit. Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke says O is “quietly enjoying” what’s going on in Baltimore because he’s a ‘promoter of division’ and has ‘benefitted politically’ from ‘dividing’ people.

Sheriff Clarke points out all the times President Obama has pitted one group of Americans against another. He also questions why Obama didn’t come out and speak about the Baltimore riots earlier. He was interviewed here on the Mark Levin Show

Clarke: Change In Baltimore Should Start With "Failed Liberal Democrat Policies"

Breitbart.com ^ | April 30,2015 | Ian Hanchett

Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke (D) blasted “failed liberal government policies” for miring people in cities like Baltimore in “generational poverty” and argued that change in Baltimore “needs to start in the politics, the failed liberal Democrat policies” on Wednesday’s “Hannity” on the Fox News Channel.

I’m really tired of “marches”.

For the most part, “marches” are composed of people leeching off the taxpayers ... and not even bothering to say “thank you”.

Forgive this highjack, but do you know who I could ping to tell me why all of a sudden my FR mail allows fewer than 100 characters, or else it won’t “send”.

ironic, that the Mayor and police chief are black but they are acting like they had nothing to do with this. And of course we have the bozo president who says it is the republicans fault for not doing more for the urban cities....

The black community has sure raised my estimation of them in the past few months. So, keep on aggravating and we will see what happens. Their leadership has already proven themselves to be stupid so any further moves an America will be to their detriment.

When I listen to black "leadership" they seem to be more interested in the narrative than they are in the facts. That never ends well.

As far as that idiot mayor of Baltimore? I have not heard her (or anyone else for that matter) say that what her community needs is JOBS. I wonder how much income was lost to residents in that neighborhood most involved in the rioting because of the chaos.

Why aren't some pols on our side saying "Black JOBS matter" and turning it to a reason to send invader labor back to where it came from? That's the only real solution to the real difficulties the underclass faces. And now they're being played by pols and other unseen forces that benefit from the dirsuptions.

The only person to come out of the Baltimore situation with dignity and a sensible approach to the chaos is that mom who whooped on her son.

grrr......why isn't ANYONE getting it right?

It should be not Charm City but Riot City—New name Burn Town. Any white person who goes there should have their heads examined, It is a All Black No go zone for Whitie.

According to his Wikipedia bio:

Sharpton was licensed and ordained a Pentecostal minister by Bishop F. D. Washington at the age of nine or ten. After Bishop Washington's death in the late 1980s, Sharpton became a Baptist. He was re-baptized as a member of the Bethany Baptist Church in 1994 by the Reverend William Jones and became a Baptist minister.:

You ever heard of a nine-year old preacher? Neither have I.

So, Al never went to Seminary or Bible school then...

Just ordained a minister at age 9?

This reminds me of the ancient popes of the Middle ages who were made Bishops when they were still kids...

I agree jobs would help but I wonder who is going to employ them. Under-educated, drug addled and murderous by culture. Jobs may be a solution but I doubt the outcome. The black community has devolved into an underclass that does not value the opportunities offered to them for forty years. By eschewing education and chasing the dollar through drugs while only satisfying their base instincts. I am not sure but I think that the community itself is lost.

People should have to work for any government benefits. It would be better if they were kept busy in factories, even if their output was useless to begin with. A percentage of them would decide to develop some skills and move up. It would be a better role model if children saw people working to get what they need and want. The point would be that they'd be off the streets and there would be a connection between getting stuff and having earned it.

The work ethic cannot be restored without work.
