Proverbs 13:24 He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.
Proverbs 22:15 Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.
Proverbs 23:13 Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die.
Proverbs 23:14 Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.
Proverbs 29:15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.

Yup-When I was little, just the IDEA of facing my father when I was wrong... that was enough to keep me in line.

Oh, yeah shes coming. Everybody better get straight," he said. Okay. So why don't you pay attention to her and get yourself 'straight', young man?

“Father”? That is so 1960s!

I read the story in the Blaze about this yesterday... this kid is being treated like some kind of a cast member in a reality show. Does anyone else notice he seemed only to show remorse at getting CAUGHT? Nowhere did I see anything remotely related to an apology for acting like a feral animal and creating mayhem.

"To see him down there, doing what he was doing, we're not doing that," Graham said. "I'm not angry with him anymore. As long as I have breath in my body, you will not be on the streets, selling drugs, you just not going to live like that.
Smart mom.

What this woman did was take on the role of a father. Imagine if all these rioting scum had fathers who stuck around and cared for them. Apparently daddy government doesn’t do such a good job of guiding it’s children.

I heard her say that those police might have to come to her home one day for protection. I applaud her.

Because he is at the point where the influence of other teens is bigger than the influence of his mother. No mention of the father.

Right! This single mother had to play daddy too so she smacked him around six times or more. And it seems to have set him straight. At least for the time being

I trolled over to Democratic Underground yesterday and one poster was railing against the mother, saying she was “so out of control” and should be turned over to Child Protective Services. It takes a village mentality.

A video shows Michael Singleton being dragged ...
Dragged?????
tsk tsk tsk
Looks like the Media is going to be hyping the 'abuse' this poor widdle toddler experienced -- on video -- from his mean ole mother.
Where is the photo of widdle 7-year old Mikey?
